If i'm not mistaken thats an M1 Garand you got sittin there. My dad has one. Is your's from the war or is it a remake? Apparently the ones from the 1940's have a waiting list and there is no guarantee what kind of shape they're in or if they even fire, so my dad shelled out the $1000 for a new one. He loves it.

I'm live in SC too. Where in SC do you live? I live in Greenville. My dad and my brother hunt and are currently looking for some good areas for deer. We use to belong to a private hunt club (composed of extended family members) but it got too big and was overhunted. I use to hunt but i don't have the patience for it anymore, but i still love to shoot. I have a Khar .40 caliber with a single stack mag that my dad got me for my high school graduation. Extremely compact for easy concealment, .40 cal for stopping power, and no safety to get in the way.... it's the ultimate weapon for concealed carry. I also have a Glock model 23, another .40 caliber, with high cap mags, and tritium night sights. IMO .40 is the perfect self defense round. I also have a couple shotguns for clay pigeons. I love to shoot but i cant sit still long enough to hunt. Fortunately my dad and my brother hunt so we are rarely short on venison. Proud to be a redneck in the Carolinas!!!
