After reading here I think I got a great deal at $300 off msrp.(did have to pay shipping to Cali) At first I kept hearing people claiming near invoice but havent seen any proof of any actual purchase. If there are any Pro purchased for near invoice please post us some evidence here.

BMWtaco--- yes, shifting is a bit odd with Auto. Shifts early and quick to downshift. Have less than 200 miles on mine at this point.

I think the people claiming near invoice were either stroking their ego knowing no one else can reproduce the deal since they had a special situation (Toyota Employee, etc.) or may have gotten a discounted price but got screwed in some other way by a dealer (Trade-in, dealer fees, interest rate, etc.)

$300 below MSRP is a good price on a Pro.

Curious to get the opinion from those of you who considered an OR instead of Pro - why did you go with the Pro versus the OR? I am looking at both and was curious to hear what you considered one over the other.

For me the main differences (that matter to me at least) are the leather seats and much nicer looking stock exterior (grille, lights, wheels particularly) on the Pro but losing the moonroof (we are having a kid and my wife is hard about windows down - which I love - when baby is in the car). I doubt I would go places that would utilize the difference in suspension b/t the Pro and OR. The white Pro looks awesome to me though I'd like to see a cement Pro in person if pictures don't do it justice.

Also, does that resale difference (or lack thereof) b/t the Pro and OR change if I got a MT instead of AT? MT is a deal-breaker for me.

PRO vs OR. I was interested in an OR but could not find one nearby that I liked whereas a nearby dealer had a PRO. It was the only truck I drove, and I bought it. Dealer said they had had it about a month but had a lot of interest in it. I'm actually not a huge fan of black interior (seats are only leather edged-- not sure what middle is mad of). Did not want moonroof as I'm over 6' and need all the headroom.

I had an '09 OR before, so buying another OR was too close to being the same thing (even tho it really wasn't), but with payments. Pro was different enough for me. And I like having a slightly unique vehicle. And it is so drop-dead sexy inside and out.

    I'm empathetic-
The pro in the Bronx is "mistakenly priced". $47k+ when I walked in the door. I should have known it was a bait and switch.

I might, prob would, have settled for a Black 2017 OR if they had one on the lot but given the upgrades in this order, I don't have any regrets in going with the pro. And I drooled over it since the pictures and artic challenge video came out.

    • Suspension with 1" additional lift backed by factory warranty - off roading is not a hobby of mine. With two kids in school, soccer, etc, I just don't have the time but when I do need it, it's nice to have it. We get quite a bit of snow here in nova, one last year at over 40". And I'm usually ahead of the snow plows on the way to ski resorts. Once cut fresh tracks in 8" of snow on back roads for miles, over an embankment and cross a large creek to get to a ski lodge because the main road was covered in accidents. And in exploring Colorado and Wyoming for Elk haunts, I've come across stuff that was too challenging for the old OR.
    • Leather seats
    • TRD exhaust
    • Aesthetic features I always wanted like black wheels, color keyed rear bumper, no chrome grill, and the blacked out headlights. Zero chrome truck for that matter.

    Is that the 2016 rugged cover 2? Or a 2017 RG2?

I ask because I can't get the hardware on my 2016 RG2 (00016-35047) to clasp shut on my 2017 Pro.

How did you do it? Got any pics? The screw looks about 1" short to me. I've unscrewed the bed handle clasp and the bed clasp all the way to the bottom but it won't fit under the rail mount.

    Thanks.

My pro is allocated for December but someone pulled out of this deal. I can grab this instead of waiting. Awesome truck! Was told that steps were an add on option. I disagreed. Probably gonna wait till December though.

What do you mean by "you disagree "? Do you mean your dec allocation build has steps and that's what you want? Or are you saying steps are included in every pro? If steps are only reason stopping you from getting it now or waiting till Dec. I would advise to jump on the available one now.

From all the articles I read, the steps are part of the pro package. I could be wrong. I have steps waiting to go on the truck, once I get it. Steps is not an issue. My financial plan was set up to buy in December. Gonna check with my bank tomorrow. If they give me the go ahead. I'm gonna get it

Steps are not part of any of the factory standard spec sheets for Pros at or in bound to dealers in my area. It's def. a dealer option as it was with mine.

1000 miles on my pro, still smiling,,, shifting is differant than my 15 pro, takes getting used too,, seems to be getting better with more miles on it, not many flat roads around here, brothinlaws chevy was the same way he said, after a few thousand miles made alot of differance..

Steps were not part of my Pro package. I didn't even get all weather floor mats. Maybe could have negotiated a little more but had another buyer filling out paperwork behind me in case mine fell through.

Not really an option. They are allocated to dealers across the country, so landing one is almost a roll of the dice. If that dealer has just gotten one or two in the past few months, they probably won't get any or if they do, it'll be a long time.

Really? I found one near me yesterday, except A/T, and same thing - web site did not have "final price" but MSRP was $43,700 and get there to see a $3k mark up. And they will not come off that number because "we may not get another one like this!"

Meanwhile, I just found a cement Tundra pro for that same price. Just wanted to save a few bucks on gas as I will likely put a good amount of miles on the truck.
