    The truck does great with 4 adults in it and everyone was relatively comfy....I had to scoot up the seat a little but I was fine. It was a tad sluggish but braking is phenomenal in this thing.

    Congrats on the baby! Just be forewarned...rear facing child seat is gonna require the passenger front seat to moved forward all the way. Mom is probably gonna want to sit in the back with em.

    That is good to hear. I haven't had a chance to check one out (a taco, not a baby) in person as we aren't anywhere near financially ready to make a purchase, none the less not even certain we will be getting one (this is all research). So all of the rear facing car seats require the seat to be moved forward? Is it possible to mount it in the centre rear seat so as to allow the front seats to remain relatively unmoved?

    Did you actually weigh a tire and wheel to get 67lbs? @Diablo169 did and his came to 60.8 lbs per corner stock. When I swap out my OEM wheels and tires I too want some weight savings, but I've been using the 60.8 as my target to beat.

    So... at 10,000 miles I switched to premium fuel just to see if there was any difference. I am on fuelly and I track every tank. I'm about 10 tank of premium in, and I have had zero mpg change. Every tank is between 20.5 - 21.5 with both 87 and 91. I'm on 265/75r16's and live in the mountains and work in the Bay Area.

    I drive pretty aggressive and I'm either going 80mph, stuck in stopped traffic or pulling up the mountain. I will say that on flat ground I can't tell the difference between 87 and 91. However, while pulling the hill there is a noticeable difference that was apparent on the first tank of premium. The 2.7 seems to pulls the hill better and slightly stronger. Granted I have big tires and it sucks either way, but at the top of the hill where I used to gradually loose speed, sometimes leading to a down shift to third, I can now pull it and slightly accelerate.

    The only thing I can think is that the premium fuel allows the timing to be advanced further than with the 87 standard fuel o_O

    In another tank or so I will switch back to 87 and see if it is noticeable again.

    It seems like the 3rd section is covered with issues regarding the V6. Granted Toyota sells more of the upper trim trucks it would make sense to see more posts regarding them. Has any of you I4 guy having some the same problems as the V6 trucks?

    I want to buy a AC I4 4x4 sometime before next spring. But the forum section has me worried to the point of considering buying a used 2014/2015 instead.

    Tried and true! I had a V6 on order for a month last year and thought it better to get the 2.7 :thumbsup:

    You have a whole lot less to worry about if you're getting the 4cyl..

    edit: It's not that the V6 is bad, it's just going through growing pains being a new motor. Long term reliablity is unknown at this point.

    How's the new autotrans? any weird shifting or low fluid issues like the V6's?

    ended up getting a 2.7 since it was proven in previous gen tacomas, its a bit sluggish compared to my GTI, but nbd. didn't want to spend the extra 4-5K on a V6. ~800 miles on it and getting about 21mpg with plenty of city driving

    i like mine, and only really have 2 complaints... The shift from 1st to 2nd is not smooth, unless you do it perfectly, -push clutch in real smow and let the rpms really come down - something like that... I hear a better full synthetic royal purple like tranny fluid helps with this. Also, slight backfire upon startup about 20% of the time.....

    It did take me an unusually long time to adapt to the shifting. Been driving manuals exclusively for 18 years, so plenty of experience here. This truck definitely likes being shifted slowly.

    My shifts are smooth, but I'm still getting used to starting on hills. I'm assuming there's a hill assist, which is really off putting for me if my eyes are not on a fixed point. Couple that with the friction point on my truck, is about 1-2" out from where the clutch really wants to spring up. Takes some effort to position it in just the right spot without overshooting and nearly stalling the truck. Still getting used to that, but otherwise not too bad for me.
