I found a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road V6 Truck Double Cab 4x4 available at the dealership I just recently ordered my truck from. This is different from what I was considering previously but it is very close. I live in California so 9% sales tax is part of the price. What would be a good OTD price for this? it also comes with:
    • 5" Black Oval Tube Steps
    • 50 State Emissions
    • Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover
    • Mudguards

Tell them you will give 32,000 and a good set of steak knives. Most importantly is that you do it with a straight face. Don't give them bastards an inch.

Those are the only options? No Tow Package, no premium tech package and still 39k?

Pass. Welcome to the California 4x4 Tacoma market...

I wouldn't buy a 3rd gen without the Tow Package, it isn't feasible to add that on after the fact.

As far as im aware Ttow package comes standard, I think it has premium tech as well based on the Sticker for 39.8 otherwise the price would be outrageous.

Maybe you should verify what is on the sticker before anything further. Tow package is not "standard" nor is P/T. Sticker price is not necessarily indicative of options especially in CA.

Contact Greg at Merced Toyota. Last year he was doing $250 over invoice. All other dealers were marking their trucks up over MSRP. My buddy and I took him up on the deal.

No, at least not here. Although many of the Tacomas on the dealer lots around here have it, the tow package option still has to be specifically chosen if you're ordering. Make absolutely sure what is included, don't assume.

Thank you, I will check that out for sure!

Yeah I made sure to ask if it was included and the guy I have been speaking with said it was standard, which is why I mentioned it.

Interesting. It may be something region-specific. I'd make sure you get it in writing. Then on delivery make sure it's installed (I'd personally just check for oil cooler, but the trailer power outlet may be sufficient).

Toyota's e-brochure for the Tacoma lists the "V6 Tow Package" as an option package on every trim except PRO where it is standard. See http://www.toyota.com/tacoma/ebrochure/

Hmm...yeah that is weird, when I look at the customization site as well it also shows it optional for my region. Maybe it is just dealership specific and the ordering manager just orders all of them with tow package at this dealership because he has enough good sense to do so.

That's the most likely explanation. It's one of those things that just can't reasonably be dealer-added and doesn't hurt to have the additional cooling/charging capacity even if you rarely tow, so it's pretty common on the lots here too. Even so, it should be listed on the window sticker.

Not knowing all the fees, you would be doing well to be at just under $42,000 OTD.
