Why drop the diff? Don't we all want the differ higher from the ground for better ground clearance/off road capability? Asking because I don't understand what it is, purpose for it.

I'm assuming he dropped it to decrease the angle of the half-shafts and CV joints with his lift.

Wake up Toyota.I have been to three Toyota dealership in the last two weeks.7 pro TDR grills all had broken tabs. The have coming for over night air.If shows broken iam going to pass and look else where. Maybe a nice metal Grill. At least it shouldn't break in shipping if it's not plastic. They could do a much better job of packaging at Pro TDR Grill.

Millions of packages are shipped daily in the US. Packaging product should be a priority that used a very thin box no styrofoam at all just a little wraparound the tabs. If they use a nice heavy box and styrofoam to hold the product in place of the tabs would not break hundreds of them would not be going back

I don't have flaps, but I believe that size (265/70/17) is the largest you can put on with no lift and not have any rubbing.

If it makes any of you feel any better, I received my TRD Pro Skid yesterday and opened the box to find some powder coat scratched because some numbnuts put those huge staples on the face of the box. Why someone would put staples there is beyond my comprehension because they weren't holding anything together. In transit, something squished the box face or sit on it causing the staple to scratch the skid plate. If it wasn't a skid plate, I'd send it back, but meh, it will get scratched up on the bottom of the truck. Toyota packaging is not very good.

I have 265/70/17 with 8" wheels and plus 10 offset and have tons of clearance with stock 2 wheel drive suspension. I am now looking at 285's on 20" x 8.5" wheels with a plus 10 or plus 15 offset.

Someone out there knows how it feels. LOL it wouldn't be such a big problem but when you get 7 of those TRD grills and all of them are broken. Gets to be disappointed. But I'm starting to laugh. I'm looking at metal grilles online. Might just be a lost sale for Toyota.

There is only one guaranteed way to get one that is not broken. But it will cost you $44000 to get it.

My CCG grill was $310 (shipped!) with the OEM TOYOTA emblem. No broken tabs. (Ha!) Looks better in my opinion too (for now, at least). I might reconsider after the price (significantly) drops... if it ever does.
