LOL! Yeah, well I'm trying to sell my home and go home shopping. So I shouldn't hope for too much snow. Moving in the snow probably isn't fun. haha

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
So where the F is Hollowtop Lake? The trail split at about 4 mile up. Unmarked. Both trails eventually disappeared into snow and fallen trees. The North Meadow Creak trail I think was the name at trailhead.

Not sure. I've only been up South Meadow Creek Trail (to the lake). But Google Maps took me right to it! The trail itself was literally marked with a number (the Forest Service Trail number). If a person didn't have Google Maps going, or didn't know the trail number, you'd never have known where to turn.

That trip was on Labor Day and there was snow up there then!

I woke up to 15 degrees and snow up above Lincoln this morning.

I'm outside of Craig tonight. My accommodation has a furnace, thankfully. image.jpg

The weather says sunny and 50 for my day of fishing the Missouri tomorrow. That will feel nice.

Nice! I had 6-7 inches on my deck this morning (nice fluffy stuff too) in Belgrade (Bozeman).

Talking with the lady about renting a forest service cabin somewhere out in the sticks soon to get away for a couple days! :D Some time off and away from civilization sounds good right now. lol

I thought Belgrade/ Bozeman was away from civilization when I went through. All of the "cities" seemed rather small.

LOL Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, and Missoula are "big city" by Montana standards. I'm from Phoenix originally so I can understand your confusion.

That said I've seen Bozeman grow a LOT in the decade I've lived here. :( But it's about the only "city" in Montana I'd want to live, personally. Quick access to some of the best fishing, hiking, hunting, camping, skiing (if you're into that) etc.

Yep. I think it's the nicest place over all. Though there's a lot about it's culture/politics I'm not into. But - that's the price you pay to live in a beautiful place I suppose. :D Just gotta get out of town now and again and into the hills to appreciate it. Overall though it's a nice, fairly safe place to raise a family.

I was told I need to visit in "real winter" before deciding whether to move to MT.

Yeah we haven't had a "real winter" for a couple years now!! Bozeman 'normally' sees -20F during winter months. Last year we hit -1F on only one day. It was pathetic. Plus we hardly had any snow on the ground most of the 'winter'.

We had a visitor at work today who flew in from Seattle (she used to live in Atlanta). She said she was glad she actually owned a "parka". LOL I laughed and told her, "This isn't even cold..."

Shit. Got colder here in Wyoming last winter. But not for very long.

This winter is gonna be good I think.

Should have been here 20 years ago....town hasn't grown that much in the last ten, previous ten? There's growth. Costco was the end of town - actually beyond the end of town, it was the only thing out there. And belgrade? Nothing south of the interstate existed.

Since Saturday I've covered 60 miles on foot (at least), limited on pheasants each day. Been eating bird for dinner every night with friends. Great time. Love this part of the state.
