Thanks to who recommended that hole saw with the drill bit in the middle. Made life "a bit easier", but those rubbers still were a pain.

can anyone chime in on what type of silicone to use to seal the holes I am going to make to mount my rack on the canopy? Or just general silicone sealant?
Also, anyone find any videos on how to best install the tracks??? FrontRunner or other brands?

I can't believe I missed this thread. Been looking at the slimline IIs since shortly after I got my taco.

Haha, yeah. I realize all that. Stupid me just didn't realize there was a "Group buy" sub forum until the other day, as I've seen group buys in the 3rd Gen Tacoma and 3rd Gen Tacoma Parts Marketplace sub forums. I just figured all group buys were in the sub forms for the generation of Tacoma that it was applicable to. Ah well, live and learn.

So what is the preferred choice for punching holes in the rubber roof strips? I've seen a couple different ones and I'm liking the 3/4 conduit, judging by the cleanliness of the holes in the strips..

I was going to get that also, but it said the same thing. I went with the 7/8 Arch Punch instead, should be here Saturday.

Im an FJ Cruiser owner. Daughter has a 3rd Gen 4Runner. Her BF has a 2nd Gen Tacoma. I trawl the Group Buy sections of TW, toyota-4runner.org and FJCruiserForums.com. TW has the most activity, but you can find things in the others and they often include 4Runner, FJ and Tacoma stuff since there is a lot of interchangeability. Probably even more forums beyond the 3 I mentioned.

Although trawling GB sections can be dangerous to your wallet cuz there is always more to buy then you can afford.

I may try the 3/4 conduit this weekend if I don't wait to install the rack. I want to buy more slats for the rack so I can have a solid platform...

Fuck .. would need some spacing on these group buys. Frontrunner, Iggy, possible SuperCharger and if a TruckVault also went on .... not enough cash.
