Passenger side brake caliper seized up today... three of the four pistons wouldn't budge. Nothing like workin in the dark to get it done before work tomorrow! I work each piston back and forth, clean/spray lube/light duty grease..repeat until smooth, re install rubber dust shields, de-grease caliper/rotor. Good as new

New OEM LBJs for mine and my dads trucks. $200 piece of mind per truck, I guess.

FYI the ones from Camelback Toyota DO come with new bolts. I have 16 extra OEM bolts, anybody need some?

where'd ya get em? Im looking to do mine before winter too

Also, anyone know how or why my brakes suddenly started squeaking? It seems to be on and off and doesn't happen every day. I took a wheel off and couldn't find anything hitting them or anything, but the pads seem to always be hitting the rotors and make for a good bit of resistance. The squeak also seems to be dependent on the tires rotation, so maybe my rotors are warped slightly?

I too ordered OEM ball joints but for some fucking reason Toyota Parts Zone has 2 different part numbers for the same god damn one so I have 2 passenger side LBJs. Hope to order the correct one tomorrow so it'll be ready to go by Saturday when I tear apart my front end. :annoyed:

It's always a safe bet to use anything with "Toyota's" name on it. I always buy OEM parts. It takes a deep check book to buy Toyota OEM brand parts though...but they are worth it. Sensors in particular need to be original.

Fluids are not all created the same, just like gas isn't.

Well I went through my insurance, so it was my $150 comprehensive deductible. The shop they brought it to (Britland Auto Repair in Bridgewater, NJ) quoted the full job at $727.21, so going through insurance seems to be the right move.

For reference, btw, here is a before.

If it's just dented, definitely try to get it out yourself. There are various methods to try. Heat gun & compressed air works pretty well for larger, rounder dents that aren't creased.
Or try a PDR guy if you can't. A little pricy but do great work.

If there's paint damage as well, I'd consider professional, as that's an invitation to rust.
