nice. No traffic and little interaction with people!
That's how my job is 90% of the time. Most nights I lock some doors and sit on my ass for 7 hours. Then every so often the kids do something stupid or get hurt and then I get to feel like I actually work a real job, lol.

The only thing holding me back from being an actual cop right now is being a lazy fat ass. I got a good chunk of weight to lose still.
Know anyone who joined a little older? (I'm 26) One of my coworkers is a retired sheriff's deputy and says I'll have a tough time getting past the boards for taking so long to get my shit together... What do you think?

I guess I am on 3rd permanently. I've been at the top of the 1st shift wait list for a little more than 3 years now.

See if I had that schedule I'd be fine. My days off are Monday and Tuesday nights.
Well if you got to actually have your days off.

I'm also a rare morning person. If I were to work a regular job I would no longer need coffee, because I love waking up at the crack of dawn and am immediately 100% ready to go. Now when I wake up at 3pm, it takes me like an hour to get myself to do anything.

I do like what I have to deal with on midnights. I'd hate the day shift here - All they do is unlock doors for faculty and write parking tickets, lol. I have the most "real" calls of any shift.

we hire older all of the time. 26 isnt bad. we have guys come out in their late 30's. you have to pass the physical part after 3 months in class. you run it everyday so by the time you test it is pretty easy
