Inverted Wheels!

    Hello guys,

    I'm new to the forum and just got my first Tacoma, a 2006 TRD Sport with 2wd. I have a question about my front wheels. They look inverted. What do you think the problem could be? I was thinking possibly alignment. I have attached a photo.

    Sorry, bad word choice. Slanted would have been better.

    Yes it has a 2-3" lift. The dealership did not know how high it was. Here's a pic of the side if you are able to tell how much it's lifted.

    I can check tire size in the morning. Here's a pic of one of the wheels, I am pretty sure it's stock.

    Thanks Matt! I'm guessing a normal alignment job would fix this.

    It should. If you have a 2-3" lift, you should try asking for the 0* toe, 0* camber, and 2.5* caster when you go in for the alignment.

    Although if you're pushing 3" of lift there's absolutely no way you'll be able to get 2.5 caster on the stock UCA's. Tell the alignment tech to give you as much caster as possible and hope for the best. :fingerscrossed:

    From this image, I'm pretty confident in saying you have a spacer lift, but I can't tell if you have aftermarket upper control arms (UCAs) or not.
    The following statements and assumptions aren't to demean your truck in any way. I share this only for the hope that it gets you the results you are looking for, along with making the truck work the best for you:

    spacer lifts are a low-budget lift solution. I'm guessing you also have a set of spacers in the rear. The spacers in the front are the silver-colored aluminum discs at the top of the spring. In the rear, they are also probably silver-colored, and would look like a cube of butter (give or take on proportions) between your axle and the leaf springs
    For most individuals buying a spacer lift, they would not go to the extra expense of upper control arms. UCAs look like this

    When lifting, aftermarket UCAs are necessary to retain the factory alignment specs. They have corrected geometry. If you are not interested in having to invest much and would like to retain a lift, JBAs make a good economical part.
    If you are not interested in buying more parts and you are focused on removing premature tire wear, I would highly recommend removing the lift kit. You will find that this makes the suspension more comfortable as well, since the factory components are now able to do their job as they were designed.
