My OR has 8,000 miles on it. I like the seats, but I've noticed my driver seat already is starting to wear/wrinkle on the sides. I do weight 260 though.....

The damn lumbar knob on the 2nd gen is the biggest destroyer of the Trd seats.
Mine are still in good shape but I've been consciously avoiding sliding in and out of the truck since day one

I have 7k miles on mine, and now thanks to an awesome gf have some Carhart seat covers. But around 5k I was noticing some wear on the seat from what I assume is from me getting in and out and having my wallet in my pocket. That's one thing I wasn't too happy with about the truck...the seats do feel kinda cheap.

Sad commentary on a $35k vehicle.

I mean seriously. Not making fun or anything. If it were for style, maybe move to leather, or even go to waterproofing that would be one thing.

But to be concerned about wear quality out of the gate? :(

I wish someone would make a new set of seat brackets that set the front up an inch or so.

The wife and I have gel seat cushions for both our vehicles for trips over 50 miles .Both have buckets seats , 2015 Chevy Equinox , and 2016 Tacoma. The last comfortable seats we had for long trips were the buckets from a 2004 Pont. Grand Am , and the bench seat in a 98 Dodge Ram . Maybe were old but comfort is comfort . The ass wants what the ass wants. The electric seats in the Equinox both driver and pass. are much nicer than the Tacoma though.

The sun tends to fade many things. I have my front windows tinted and always use a sunshade. My seats are still comfortable and show no signs of fading.

isn't the same material the FJ Cruiser used? My old FJ did great and the seats held up well and cleaned really easily.

Yup they're not the greatest especially in the jet black color. My gen 2 were better design except for the light gray.
Eh well . excuse to get aftermarket.
