So I have a question, would I need to upgrade my suspension (currently I have OEM sport suspension) if I am planning to install RTT on the roof rack of my truck? I won't be doing rock crawling, mostly moderate trails.

If you are running stock leaf springs you should definitely consider a new leaf pack. Lots of folks around here run OME Dakars or All Pro Expedition packs. I went with Dakars with excellent results.

I like my Dakars. I got them from @NYCO and they were used but they are still holding a load very well and ride nicely.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I like the ALLPRO EXPO, but they are hard to get (backorder) and I do share OCD tendencies when I hear squeaking from the back end. This is the only CON, if you will, of the Dakars.

Everyone has a different experience and different needs, but I went with the Headstrong progressive AAL in the back and have not had any issues at all; smooth ride and even with three days worth of gear and supplies for the kids and I along with the RTT she still doesn't sag the back. . . .

I'm actually really curious how that would work. I mean, its really only 100#-200# max on the roof rack when In motion...might make you a little top heavy when turning to fast...but because it's centered over the cab, it would'nt be any different from having another person in the cab with you. Same with once it's deployed/at camp.

@NorilskSever I actually think you'll be fine weight wise. I don't see the need for an AAL because of to much weight in the back. Now, if you wanna talk straight up suspension, then yeah, ditch the OEM crap ASAP and lets get you in to something a little fancier ;)

Got my axe and shovel mounted. My dad and I used some u bolts, muffler clamps and security nuts. It turned out pretty good. Here are some pics. We spent less than 20 on everything. It feels pretty sturdy plus I don't have to worry about somebody stealing it

Just thought I'd throw this up for guys mounting tents to tube. Could be a little more secure than flat stock that comes with the tents. I used a press and angle iron to make the bends. I did it more because I couldn't find a 70mm 8x1.25mm bolt with a 13mm head locally.

Trick Tabs welded to the crossbars. 30mm X 8mm is plenty long, probably go shorter soon.
