I can't stand thieves. IMO, they are on par with violent criminals... Theft is covered by your comprehensive coverage so the good news is that filing a claim shouldn't really impact your insurance rates. Hopefully, your deductible is less than the cost of the replacement.

Interested to hear why you think that is the case... Insurance is extremely important and valuable, especially if you have own assets and/or have a steady source of income. I would much rather pay a few hundred dollars a year for an auto policy than run the risk of being in an at fault accident where injury damages can easily exceed 5-6 figures in the blink of an eye.

Worst thing is - if the pipes they cut weren't part of the converter, you're going to need those too!

    Required to have it, fine
Pay every month to Insure me fine
If something happens, pay more money for deductable for them to do their fucking job and fix what I've been paying them for every month? That's like paying eclectic bill every month then power outage happens then You should pay them more money?
Insurance companies almost always look for an out to avoid paying for anything. 12-26-2015 a tornado went through the city where my parents live and leveled a good amount of homes. Some had disaster coverage and some others did but without flood damage. Alot of homes can not be fixed because they claimed it as flood damage. I was called in by my friends towing company to get in a wrecker and help out that night and next few days. I pulled cars out of lawns, houses, rolled them over, pulled from the lake. These people lost everything and insurance fucked them. Long story short Fuck them. Not saying they are all bad, but most are corrupt little fucks. But that's just my opinion.

Indy shop quoted me $1,300. They said there are no appropriate generics.

What is your deductible???? Comprehensive deductibles are ususally much lower than Collision
    .
My $10k deer strike was covered under my $100 comprehensive. Vandalism and theft are covered under it too...

My check engine light is not on, no warnings whatsoever running with the cat gone and a gap in the pipe. It sounds horrendous though, and I hope I don't pass out or die of CO2 poisoning before I get this sorted out.

As long as you're not idling in place for 45 minutes in an enclosed area you'll probably live.

CEL off is likely because you haven't ran enough miles for the sensors to take notice, though I could be wrong.
