When I first joined TW, I spent the majority of my time in those forums, because - 3rd gen. It was pretty depressing. Then I found you f#$%ers :bananadance::fistbump::mudding:

If you're gonna just be keeping the jack for your garage go with the 3 ton harbor freight steel jack. I've got two at the shop and one in my home garage. If your gonna carry it in your truck it's a little bit heavy. I have a 2ton aluminum hf jack in my truck. I've used it on two different recoveries.

Last I had heard craftsman had discontinued their aluminum race jack.

Damn. I've heard a lot about the Craftsman one. I'll look at Horrible Fright for my jacking needs. :jerkoff:

They get your long travel up off the ground I assume Jason?

I was telling my coworker this. He's like "Well are you ever actually done?" I settled that no, we aren't. If only 'cause we break shit and have to fix stuff in between making things fun. Then I realized I am considering a second car so I can do some other mods to that... So no. It's the thrill of the mod it seems. Ug.

The 3 tons do, the 2 ton comes very close. Depending on surface I'm using it on. I made an extension for it so I'm not wasting as much of it's usable lift, since they are low profile jacks. I prefer to buy low profile jacks as I work on lots of lowered track cars as well.

The hf jacks are equal to the craftsman jacks. If you read all the threads about both jacks on DR and RDC you'll see the craftsman jacks have the same if not a higher failure rate than the HF jacks. But I'm just like you. I'd much prefer my jack say craftsman on the side. I'm not a big HF fan

you gotta know what your buying too. all my sockets and wrenches are craftsman because of the lift time warranty they have, but i don't expect them to be able to handle any serious weight/abuse. My prybars and breaker bars for example are Cornwell and i've beat them up pretty good for the last 8yrs and there still going strong. But i do have a low profile HF jack as well and am happy with how its worked out so far!

Neither of them had been offroad and wanted to get started, they may need a few tugs.

@digitaLbraVo is camping next to you at Anza right?

I have the huge harbor freight stands. Work awesome. But a tw member was nice enough to put his truck in gear while borrowing em and one is bent now. I use a cherry picker to lift to full droop.

Question on droop while this is the topic.

If I were to jack my truck up from one side to allow one rear wheel to be off the ground, would that be "full droop" or when flexing offroad does the wheel actually droop further?
