R&D didn't really care apparently?

 

Getting the tooling to make their own plugs is what was the main drawback.

 

Any opinion on jba ceramic coated headers? Picked up a set stupid cheap on craigslist. Worth the install?

 

I liked mine. Got a crazy deal on brand new coated afe's so I went with them, that was a mistake. Gonna try the urd's next. But you can't go wrong with any long tube headers, especially if you get a good deal on them

 

OK cool thanks I'll slap them on. Got them for 100 including a resonator and urd o2 sim. Just need to pick up a y pipe

 

Why was that a mistake? Coating not worth it? Or just AFE's headers? I'm seriously considering getting a set of the Spec U headers to see if they'll fit with solid motor mounts (so they don't hit the coil bucket gussets)

 

Coating was great, header fit was great, cats threw p0420 and 430 codes from day one, and catalyst material came loose and clogged exhaust 300 miles from home 1 month after install. Having been in the exhaust buissness my whole life I knew that aftermarket converters were junk, and a risk, but at $500 it was worth the gamble.

 

Should I nix the cats and run it straight? No smog in fl

 

I just finished my installed on he magnuson and reflashed by a Toyota tech with trd supercharge tune. On the way home less than 1mile I hit the gas station for some gas b4 I even get it the gas station the cel came on. I was reading the group buy section. Somebody say bully dog tune is specific for magnuson can anybody verify that??

 

Exhaust smell like rotten egg

Maybe I could talk to magnuson and pay extra to get bully dog tune from them? I was reading it here on the trd supercharge forum. Some of u guys were saying bully dog tune suck that's why I went with runner kit and get a reflash from Toyota. Shit hope this is something i could figure out

 

Do you know what codes it is throwing? Also a must is an air fuel gauge. That way you can at least somewhat tell what the tune is doing.

 

Wait til the the guys that know more than me chime in....but the way I've been made to understand it up until now. The bullydog tune for the new mangy unit it no good and one should try to get the Toyota reflash as you did..... How much gas was in your tank when you dropped it off and was it premium? .....cuz I'm assuming you know it now has to run on premium. Maybe that's why it not running so hot right now??? Just a thought.

 

Haven't scan it yet. Will do when I get back to work tmr

 

My rig have 5000 miles and since day 1 only premium gas

 

I live really close to my work I just basically ran the trunk home without getting any boost at all. I was doing what the manual said test drive a little without boost at all

 

Why bully dog suck?
