I will try to get some night shots soon, likely this weekend. No moisture build up yet. They are very bright, but I wish they had a farther reach. I may have to go with some spot LEDs instead of the floods, and move these floods to the rear to be used as bed/reverse lights.

ETA: I did cut waaayyyy too much of my cowl vent panel than I needed to. Should have measured twice, cut once, instead of not measuring, grabbing the cutting wheel and going to town. So now I am in the market for a new cowl vent panel. If anyone has a good local source for used parts I am all ears.

Me too! Looks like I'm beginning the interior teardown after work today so I can get it done and over with.

 

Im going to start dipping my emblems when I get home today in an hour! Seems like today is the unofficial DIY mod day.

You have any spare TACOMA emblems that you aren't going to end up using? I need 3 to replace my shittily spray-painted ones....

 

Naw mine are still on the truck. If I ever get annoyed and just debadge it I can let you know.

I have mine if you want them. One has a paint crack from bending it but they are pretty much new

 

Are they the same on the 3rd gen's? I have yet to actually look at one up close..

What do you need a hill for?

 

The instruction videos say "need a slight hill, so the line has tension." And another truck/vehicle thats at least 500lbs

 

Scrub the brakes when pulling in

 

I just stand back as far as my winch controller will let me, grab the line and pull back with my body weight while I spool the line in, then walk back and reset whenever I get back to the truck. Has worked just fine for me.

You think you're going to have to find another hill or something everytime you use it?

Finally got around to dipping my emblems last night. Took about 4 hours as I was wanted to make sure the coats were on and dry. Im happy with the results, I will post a pic later on.
