I live in Draper and actually would really appreciate it. When I regeared I was less than impressed with the change. That cost me $2k. If I am going to spend double that then the change better be substantial.

I read over and over again the same thing about gears. When I regeared my truck it wasn't what I expected. Sure I probably did a bad job of managing my own expectations and I am sure the supercharger changes things much more.

Some have thought it is not as substantial as it could be given the price. But swapping the stock pulley to a smaller one like the URD 2.85 really helps wake it up.

Full disclosure: I wasn't blown away at first. I was expecting lots of top end / freeway passing power. What I realize now (and love) is that it's about the torque, not hp. The SC shines in the low-mid rpm range. Getting off the line, shooting a gap, pulling up hills is where it makes a huge difference. Also high altitudes in the mountains and pulling heavy loads, which I haven't done a ton of yet.

Once my warranty is up I may do the 2.85 but I'm happy with it as-is for now.

I'm not sure how it is with you 2nd gen guys but with the first gen I hardly notice the supercharger at all until I'm in 3rd gear, then it's like someone lit a fire under my truck's ass lol. But in first gear I don't even see any boost, by the time I start to I have to shift into 2nd. Probably just the way my truck is geared but still, putting a blower on won't turn your Tacoma into a race car. But you definitely feel the difference. Dropping a gear and blowing by slow movers on the freeway becomes a lot more fun lol. I'm sure it would definitely help with towing in that regard (maintaining freeway speed/momentum)

I was at Truckee a couple weeks ago. Going uphill on an on-ramp the truck was taxed pretty well. I do have armor, and those KO2 tires I swear are heavier than my old ones.

Do I need this for sea level, cruising and passing? Heck no. But for the group buy price close to what TRD had them for originally, bring it on!

There is a little chatter about the 2.85 pulley... JUST DO IT. My truck didn't feel much faster honestly until I did that (mile above sea level) because I was only getting 3 lbs of boost. Changed that pulley and the seat of the pants feeling was incredible. At sea level my battleship on 33s rips. Boost is expensive, but makes the truck run how it always should have.

The other nice thing is that the reflash is so pig-rich that you can swap the pulley and don't have to do anything else, although I would recommend swapping your fuel pump to a larger one for a little insurance.

Are your KO2's E rated or C rated? I have the E rated ones and they are heavy, you definitely feel it. Yes the supercharger would help make up for that
