Do you need to know, or care?
First, I would just like to say sorry about the problems you are having. What I don't understand is the Service Manager walking up and asking YOU to call Toyota about the problem. That's their job, just make it right. Give it back to me fixed! No need for me to make any call unless I'm unhappy about this dealership, or want to lodge a complaint.

Unreal! There's no excuse Toyota can offer except to give you a new one and make you whole. And it shouldn't have to take a lemon law for that to happen.

Hope this gets worked out to your best interest
    Cheers!

Really sucks OP, so sorry to hear, there were 2 other guys with oil leaks from their new 17s and one guy with a T-case issue too. You got both, that's terrible, I have a PM coming your way on some advice with Toyota CS. Que the f*n b*ys (apparently this is offensive now to some) who will continue to insist this new gen has only a minority of owners with issues... too many loyal owners and new owners throwing down hard earned money for trucks that shouldn't have these issues. Best wishes.

That's a big pile of crap....Toyota has problems. Period.

Hopefully they'll get her fixed for you soon but that should never happen to begin with...ever.

We bought Toyota's based on their reliability and past track record. However it seems many, many people are having issues.

Ridiculous as the Tacoma has always been a shiny penny for them because of its perceived reliability/dependability. How do they fuck up such an important new release. I'm guessing a lot has to do with QDR processes/quality control at the plants, maybe the additional shift and increased production led to bad training/inexperience, etc. who knows. But fix it Toyota, please, I really don't want to be in a Ford next truck, lol.

Like many on here with issues, you need to contact toyota tell them you do not feel the vehicle will be reliable... Etc. Explain your issues and tell them you do not feel safe. They should cover a payment or two and extend your warranty. Some were lucky some were not. I only received a 500$ credit after all my tranny issues( something is better than nothing). But many have gotten payments and extended warranties all covered. All you have to do is ask! Whats the worst that could happen.

Thanks guys!! I never thought about them covering my first payment or two! They did say they were working on the background to give me a 6 year 125,000 mile warranty bumper to bumper. It's a nice gesture however I trade my cars in every three to four years so do me it means nothing really.

My rear diff went out after owning for 12 days with about 500 miles. They refunded my first payment and gave me the Platinum Toyota Care Warranty 7yr/100K for free.
