You got the traveling nurse gig? Tried to talk my wife into that for a bit at one point.

 

It's a sweet gig man but not for everyone.

 

I think it would be awesome! Get to travel and experience new places get paid more and then after you have decided what area you like the best then settle down and plant roots. Tried to convince her to let us get a brand new travel trailer and live out of it while renting our place or selling our place haha she wasn't thrilled with that idea.

 

Id say yea and no. The traveling is great but what most don't realize is you're not there on vacation and you are moving every 3-6 months. I've gotten to do some sweet things and whatnot yea but moving so much is really taking a toll lately and I miss being close to friends a lot. Right now I'm right by my parents which is pretty nice.

Hello my brothers across the country!

I'm in the process of deciding my future/life change. Debating moving from oregon to the Palm Bay area. I haven't even started looking for jobs in my experience related fields, but curious if you guys could lend a hand.

I've grown up in agriculture, so farming is my background lol. I'm assuming there's nothing remotely close to that there. I also can fab/weld even tho I'm not certified thru a school. Are there any large ag based businesses within an hour or so? I don't work well inside, even tho I have a machining degree and most of my construction engineering degree lol.

Just trying to get a feel from some locals if I'm screwed or not in staying in my work related field haha.

How's cost of living? Whats your average tax on either sales or property? Any info would be appreciated, still have a few months and a visit or two to decide.

I lived/went to high school there. Cheap housing and low cost of living, theres big engineering companies in town. I know there were a good amount of fabricators in town but they worked in automotive. Not a bad place to live, I do miss it but shoot from PNW to palm bay it's a huge change

I'm pretty aware of the change from the PNW to there, has me sad but the change may be worth it. How's the crime rate in the area? I've been told it's low, but.... Google can lie lol.
