It depends. I discussed it over the phone with a pro bodyshop place that said depending on the level of labor/prep etc, up to $800. Another guy at the local Leer dealer gave me a guys name and said $400.

My thought is you can save a fair amount of money and get better results if you basically remove all the windows and anything that unscrews first so they don't have to try to mask or work around any of that (saving them labor time and $$$), and then just let them focus on the sanding/keying prep to their level of satisfaction (and deal with that mess) and spray it, then I would reinstall all the hardware myself afterward.

But I envisioned that process before Bennett was born and I realized that I hardly have time to wipe my own ass every day. :bananadead:

This. Maaco wanted an additional $200 to remove my fenders on my Prerunner if I left the truck with them, on top of the $350 to paint them. I was like...its about 14 screws (front bumper was off at the time) total, all the same size, all easily accessible...it will literally take 10 minutes to do both, if you dont know what you're doing. "Sorry sir, that's what the charge is". Ok. Grabbed my drill gun, popped the hood, walked back in 5 minutes later with both fenders- "Where do you want them".

Still don't understand how even 15 minutes of work (for someone that does it for a living..Mmmmhmmm) equates to $200 of labor.

I'm actually hoping the Chargers win. Would just put us further ahead in the AFC West!

The other part of my approach is that I don't want a guy who is unfamiliar with my truck and its parts, and who gets paid to paint all day long to operate any tools or fasteners anywhere near my truck, especially when it comes to sealing things that need to be weather tight. He won't give a fuck about that part, because he won't be the one waking up with cold water dripping on him and his shit in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere.

This is also why I don't have many friends.
