Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I don't know exactly where the thread is but @chris4x4 did a VERY detailed break down where he tore open just about every filter on the market and the OEM Toyota filter was by far the best of the bunch. Most filter media in it.

You're probably fine using the Mobile 1 filter but on your next change just put an OEM one on it. I use Mobile 1 Synthetic and have for my last handful of oil changes. I've now switched to 15,000mi extended life oil with plans to change it every 10k or so.

FYI -- I buy the same oil at Walmart for around $25... When I clicked on the rebate link Walmart wasn't listed as a participant. My guess is that the stores listed have an inflated retail price (typical for auto supply stores) which would offset the coupon value.

Champion Labs makes the Mobil 1, Toyota TRD, K&N, Royal Purple, and countless other filters. These are all good filters, but the OEM filter costs less and actually has more media. Might as well save some money and get the quality OEM. I bought a 5 pack on Amazon for about 30 bucks.

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
this, you can get 2 but you have to fill out separate rebate forms you cannot combine both on 1 rebate form, so basically its a 50% off deal with rebates.

FWIW to anybody who has the same driving habits as me, below is what I have done the entire life I've owned my Tacoma. I purchased the truck from the original owner at 67,xxx miles. He ran Mobil 1 5/30 Synthetic which I was able to confirm from his records.

    My Driving Habits:

80% Highway to and from my jobsites.
10% Stop and Go due to Austin, TX horrible roads/traffic ( I try at all cost
10% Offroading / Towing Have a friend with a deer lease that I visit several times a month. (not always hunting, just 4x4ing).

    Current Milage:

    127,634

    Oil Filter:

    Mobil 1 # M1-102

    Oil Type:

    Mobil 1 - 5/30 Full synthetic

    Oil Change Intervals:

    5,500 - 6,500 miles roughly.

    Oil Analysis:

I have had 3 Analysis' performed by BlackStone Laboratories on my this truck's oil. One immediately after I purchased the truck, another at 80k miles and another at 115k miles. All came back with with good results with nothing out of the ordinary. On each analysis, BlackStone mentioned I could go longer on the oil that they sampled stating 8 - 10K would be just fine. I personally just keep my intervals as stated above between 5,500 - 6,500. I know for the enviroment's sake I could go a little longer, but ehhhh, I'm old school I guess now and I like seeing my excel spreadsheet consistent on my oil changes.

Hope this helps new owners get a feel for what they can expect out of their oil's life if using Mobil 1 5/30 and having similar driving habits like mine. :hattip:

    Same as everybody else...
Moble 1 just went up to 25 bucks at my local WM. I also use QSUD and Penn's oil full synthetic, both for between 21 and 22 bucks for the jug. From what I've read I can't go wrong with any of those oils, I change mine every 5k with an OEM filter. I could probably run longer but I'm super old school, cut my teeth on 3K/3month rule. It took me awhile to be comfortable with 5K/5months.

The list on the Mobil One website says "some" participating retailers. Walmart is a participating dealer, it's just not listed. To confirm this, if you search for 0w20, it will find nearby retailers that carry the oil. If there is a Walmart near you, I am sure it will pop up. Just got my Walmart rebate yesterday for the 2nd Mobil One rebate.

If anyone cares here are some common rebates this year from the following reputable makes:

Mobil One - beginning spring and end of summer, up to 10 qts each season, total of 20 for the year or 4 x 5 qt jugs at Walmart.

Pennzoil - up to 10 qts Annually

Quakerstate - up to 10 qts annually

Comes out to about $12-13 per 5 qt jug or $2-3 per quart for fully synthetic when used during a Walmart rollback for any of these.

Anyone having to wait an extended time to receive their Mobil 1 oil rebate? Mailed mine before the Oct. 31, 2016 deadline and have not seen any rebate check.
