This will be my "end all" just needed it done by next weekend for a Moab trip. I didn't want to do that for my last tent because it was not "family sized". I could get it done................ I'm out of gas, lazy, and out of gas. I need to get out for C02 also.

 

Yep, I was originally doing this, sent an email to All Pro asking for them to add 2 additional tabs upside down on 1 set of my pair of bed bars I had ordered (so that I could mount some dust lights), received a reply back saying that was fine but would take an additional couple of days in the shop, with no price difference (i was willing to pay a little more for 2 more tabs welded on, but ok) bars show up, only 4 tabs total, all 4 upside down

Sent off a 'disappointed' email, not asking for a refund or anything, got no response. Ordered my own damn bender and notcher now.

 

I could use a quick answer.

Just getting my CVT installed, and I also ordered the condensation mat. The mat came with 4 self-tapping screws and washers, but I'm not exactly sure where I should be screwing into. I don't want to go into the floor and have screw tips coming through the other side. Do I go through the aluminum edging?

The mat is a lot heavier than I expected, so it definitely needs to be secured somehow.

Are these actually being produced, because I'd love to throw some money at them.

Or does anybody know of a similar bracket out there? I'm looking at the exhaust hangers that some guys are using, but would like something better.

 

My mat is also pretty hefty, but I haven't seen a need to mount it. I did have to trim it up a bit, CVTs supplier missed the mark on the dimensions. It was more of a trapezoid than rectangle! IMHO, don't mount it. Just leave it under your mattress as is.

What are these two rings for above the window? Can't seem to find anything for them??

 

Isn't for helping them collapse in when the bungees are attached?

 

they are for the retention straps. they are elastic straps that go from one side, to the other, so during opening and closing the tent, they draw the tents material inwards.

Do you have the single-piece or two-piece mat?

 

Single piece. Mt Shasta extended summit.

 

They are there to secure your door flap when it's rolled up. The other side should have a cylinder shaped piece that goes through it.

 

That window actually zips/rolls down to the bottom, so they don't work for that.

 

I guess go with the bungee collapse thing. Whatever that is. Lol. What brand and model tent is that?

 

Damn, never got any straps with the tent. Thought maybe that is what they were for.

Have just been doing my best to shove it all in there when I fold it up.

As has been mentioned they are for the bungees that assist with keeping the fabric pulled in when closing the tent. Not having them isn't necessarily a bad thing. There have been a handful of cases where the tension from the bungees has pulled on the seam just enough to cause the waterproofing tape to start to separate. Doesn't happen often but has for some. It could be possible that the ones that had issues had shorter bungees that had more tension. I haven't used bungees in my personal tents for a couple years now.
