I did HVAC for many years before becoming a welder so I have knowledge about your furnace.
On top of the gas valve , or on the side is a capillary tube attached to the gas valve by a 1/4" nut. The capillary goes down through the nut. This capillary senses that there is a flame (pilot light) before the gas valve opens. If it senses flame it sends a micro voltage to the gas valve saying it is ok to open and produce the heat you desire. If it's not sensing a flame there is no micro volts to say ok .. open and locks the valve out.
You interrupting the power may have reset the process.
Sometimes because of humidity, inactiveness , time etc. this capillary at the nut gets corrosion ( not the kind you can see with your eyes) and those micro volts won't flow. Kinda like your battery cable not making good contact with the battery ..... follow me ?
Take that nut off ( probably brass ) being careful not to twist the capillary, after taking it off and pulling it out take some scotch brite or steel wool and clean the nut and bottom of the capillary ( little round thing)
Put it back together without putting any grease or whatever on it . Clean and dry. This is most likely the problem . Next problem could be the igniter starting to fail if it's not a pilot light. If you have a pilot light then you don't have an igniter.
Save your cash and do what I suggested. If the problem persists then get a trained professional monkey to come out and take the cash you saved.

The sensor is at the end of the capillary tube .... opposite side from the gas gas valve connection. No need to clean that end ... just the gas valve connection like I said.
Funny thing happened to me while I was at RT this year. My wife called crying that our AC was not working during a terrible heat wave at home.
I'm in Utah in a laundromat.... WTF ?
She gets the neighbor to come over ( who has zero experience) ... I walked him through troubleshooting the problem over the phone !
He sent me pics from the phone and I told him what to do . WaLa !!
    Cool Air !!
The wife didn't thank me , just the neighbor and " What a wonderful job he did " ..... Give Me A Fucking Break !

I was a Steamfitter .... There is soooo much work here for the next couple years that you could work all the overtime you can handle. Guys are working 7-12's with no end insight. Upgrading refineries.
Hmmmm .... I think the oil company's are preparing for when the fuel prices go way up again ?
It will happen .... you make a buck , and eventually give it back. Give and take , Give and take. Such a viscous cycle.

We have guys from Wyoming working here.
I wish I was in Wyoming , Montana , Idaho ... ? Anywhere but here , but when I look at all my shit and think about reorganizing it somewhere else , I just say Fuck it. Too much trouble!
    Sometimes I think I was happier when I didn't have shit o_O
    I know I was .... Freedom.
Less worrying about how to keep it going and more worrying about how to have Fun !

That is correct ... try wiggling the wires where they connect to the igniter.
I can see the unit is good and clean ... in good shape ... no rust and dirt , that's good.
Also there should still be a capillary at the gas valve ?
    Take a pic
    Clean it like I said
    Show me the gas valve
DONT keep resetting it too quickly.... too much gas build up is Kaboom

if you have one of those long handled grill , candle lighters ... hold it on that sensor for about five seconds ... keep it lit and going while you start it up again. Keep the lighter there till the gas valve opens.
Don't have your face there .... AND .... Don't be scared

I just looked at my gas furnace.... there is no capillary tube or nut to clean as I have an igniter also.

    ^^^ There Ya go !

    ^^^ There Ya go !
Your pictures showed that there was no capillary, you have a much more up to date/modern furnace , so that's a good thing.
I'm sure that igniter crack is the culprit. Try not to touch the new one with your bare hands .... kinda like the instructions that come with halogen bulbs.
I'm happy to have helped somewhat. Modern and even older gas furnaces are really clean burning units and require basically No cleaning or regular maintenance. Mine was installed 16 years ago and I've only suffered a broken igniter like you Ben , I've never cleaned it as it still looks like yours. From what I read here on this thread , most guys , if not all are mechanically and or technically inclined ..... not to say that a screw up doesn't happen every now and then , but guys like to tinker and figure shit out , and fuck shit up doing it sometimes ! It's a guy curse !
Keep the air filter clean , that's a must , forget the rest.

Sounds like you might be a boiler operator?

Good luck , it was nice sharing info :)

Truck is packed! Packed really well actually. Have the OSK, Kitchen box, Dry food box, Tool box, Shower, CO2, 3 ammo boxes holding stuff, chairs and table, 2 gas jerry cans, and a water jerry can in the back. With room for fire wood.

Took the back seat out and put the fridge in there and sleeping bags and bags. Worked out great.

    STOKED!
