Dropped the truck off to have some warranty work done. They flashed the transmission (TSB-0077-16) so hopefully the downhill downshifting is fixed. Only problem now is some wind noise from the drivers side rear window at highway speeds. I can pull up on the switch and the noise goes away as long as I hold the switch up. As soon as I let go the wind noise returns. So far it has stumped the dealer and they have made a few phone calls to see if this is a known issue. They are thinking it's a seal issue and not an alignment issue. They have ordered a window run to see if that solves it.

Anyone else have this issue and if so, how did they fix it?

    The downhill downshifting?

As in applying the brakes while going downhill just to slow a bit and it downshifts and stays there?

Mine does that after the TSB...Very annoying.

It stays in lower gear to help slow u down without applying brakes too many times. Pretty sure they call it grade shifting. Even my 2nd Gen did this, On Highway exits I can slow down without using brakes even going 70(Depending on the length of exit lane). All u have to do is either take ur foot off the gas pedal or tap the breaks once.

I am noticing a whistling sound, which I initially thought was wind noise, at various speeds. I am not sure if it is the diff howling that a lot of people are complaining about, or if it is something minor like a window seal or something.

Yeah, it's like it's engine braking. Going downhill and let your foot off the gas so you are just coasting. The engine will downshift. The flash fixed it. Now it drives like every other automatic I have owned.

Problem is that just because I take my foot off the gas when going downhill, that doesn't mean I want to slow down or maintain that speed. I take it off the gas because gravity will accelerate the truck to the speed I want, then I can control it myself with either the brakes or downshifting manually.

The window was pretty obvious to me. I haven't noticed any differential noise.

Agree, The TCU learns your driving habits when it's in learning mode. A normally functioning automatic transmission will know what the driver wants.

I have noticed the same in my 2016 Limitied, on the highway it sounds like I have a window open.
