Hey guys I'm waiting on my trd pro delivery. I just wanted to ask if anybody here has undercoat ed their 3rd gen. What are the options? I live in the north east where we get allot of snow/salt and would just like to protect my truck from corosion.

I've heard of fluid film but want to know of a more permanent solution.

    Does line x do undercoating?

Hang it up with the permanent solution, use fluid film once a year. Line-x is not going to work any better then the tar undercoating, probably will be worse.

The best protection that you can do is TAR UNDERCOATING.
And before everybody jumps down my throat because it has earned a bad reputation, that bad reputation is obtained as a side effect of it being NEGLECTED.

Tar/asphalt undercoating is not something you can just spray on and forget. If you do, it dries and cracks and could potentially make matters worse.

In order for that to be an effective undercoating, it has to be kept soft and water resistant. Hose it down every year with a good heavy and waxy oil, like chainsaw bar oil. Every two years, give it another coat of asphalt. The oil will keep it soft and will repel water.

So still not a permanent solution, fluid film works a lot better.

Really? Tell us more knowledgeable man?? I have used Fluid Film going on 3 yrs now. My 14 was coated when it was new and the frame, bolts, etc, still looked new after two midwest winters.. Just applied 3 cans to my new Pro last week.. Works as good as other similar products to prevent corrosion.

You won't see corrosion in 3 years even with NO coating.

Yeah right, you keep promoting that useless tar undercoating that ziebart uses if your happy with it. Fluid film for the win for the rest of us.
