Now I fell a little guilty about taking up a good 30 minutes of his time when I ordered my wheels (Dark gloss gunmetal FTMFW!). He took the time to answer all of my questions about the wheel and TPMS transferring over etc. Then he gave me a rundown on tire options and the differences between some of the manufacturers. I ordered the wheels and received them about a week and a half later. Like others have said before me...very well packaged and the wheels were f'ing badass. I just had them mounted this last weekend with a set of BFG KO2's in 265/70/17 and they look sweet. I stood there while they mounted them to make sure they didn't screw up the finish. Both the wheels and Dustin's customer service were top notch and I would definitely order from him again and would have no issues at all in referring him to anybody who wants a new set of wheels for their ride.

I am very sorry that I've been hard to reach for the last 2-3 months+. I was alerted to this thread, and I've kept my eye on it and felt the need to post for a while, but I definitely feel the need to post now more than ever.

First of all, thank you all very, very much for your orders and for your support of me (Dustin) and my company (FN Wheels). Nothing makes me happier than to see how happy all of your are with our wheels, as I know how hard we work to source from the very best factories, enact a strict standard, and make sure that the wheels meet those standards.

Now to give a little background on the FX Pro wheel. When we started developing the FX Pro about 2 years ago, we did so at the request of 4Runner owners and members of T4R. org forum. At that time photos of the "SEMA FJ Wheel" as it was being called at that time were circulating as the wheel for the new 4Runner Pro model. A few savvy Toyota dealership parts guys got a hold of the part number, and ordered the factory wheels. At this point we all discovered that the 4Runner Pro wheel was only 7" wide (too narrow for most Toyota owners' tastes, and too narrow to be approved for use with the very popular 285/70R17 tires, let alone factory Tacoma tires in 265/65R17, both of which require a MINIMUM 7.5" rim width).

I (Dustin) have a reputation dating back 15+ years for working to bring out really good quality wheels that are specific to certain vehicles, and for the last 6+ years FN Wheels (my company) has a reputation specifically for Toyota applications. Our wheels have been popular for a while now, and I like to think (based on my customer feedback) that we have the best Toyota truck specific niche wheels out there, particularly at this price point. So around this time two years ago were approached by members of the 4Runner forum and a few of my Toyota dealership customers to make a wheel that was similar to the 4Runner Pro (aka FJ SEMA Wheel), but in a better width: 8". Everyone already liked our wheels and our reputation, and so it seemed like a natural fit.

To be perfectly honest, I did not think this wheel would sell extremely well, but there seemed to be enough demand at the time to justify our costs to design, engineer, manufacture a mold, have the wheels third party tested and certified, and then make a production run. I figured I'd probably break even at best, but I too am an enthusiast and particularly a Toyota enthusiast, so I thought why not. It'll be cool to give my customers what they want.

When word got out, and when I released a few photos of the prototypes to one of the early customers who had requested the design from the get go, there was a real strong "buzz" about the wheel. By the time the first production arrived we had already taken an interest list long enough to sell out (I never accept payment for any wheels prior to actually having the wheels in stock, except in rare instances where the customer absolutely insists on pre-paying). The first production run sold out within days (this was approximately a year and half ago, the late-spring / early summer of 2015).

At that point we had only sold the wheels via word of mouth to 4Runner owners and a few Toyota dealerships that do "showroom" or aftermarket builds (because the dealerships realized the liability at hand when installing 285/70R17 or 265/65R17 tires on wheels that are only 7" wide). I had actually proposed the wheel to a few of the members here on TacomaWorld who were looking for something different, but the feedback at the time was that it was more of a "4Runner wheel," and they wanted to wait until someone else posted photos on a Tacoma.

Still feeling that this wheel was more of a small niche wheel I ordered another small production run from my factory, and by the time it arrived it was sold out again, but we were able to meet the demand from 4Runner customers in a reasonable time frame, while still selling all of our other current FN Wheels models.

Sometime late last year the first Tacoma owners started ordering the wheels and posting photos online. From that point on the popularity exploded. Our volume of sales has been extremely busy ever since, and as a result the strains on our time have grown. The wheels are not listed on our website because I cannot keep up with the demand from word-of-mouth sales alone, so there is no need for me to add this wheel to our site only to have it marked "out of stock." We are ordering the wheels consistently and in good quantity from our factory. I have not increased the price from the "introductory" price either and as many of the customers on here and on the other Toyota forums can attest I often throw in some extras (if available / if I can) with every order. I am sure we could increase the price and cutback on the extras and then curb the demand so that we are able to keep the wheels in stock (and that is probably good business sense), but as a fellow enthusiast that's not what I want to do.

We still ONLY take payment for orders that we can fulfill. We do take a backorder/interest list, and I do make every effort to call every customer from that list. If you put your name on my list and feel that you didn't receive a call from me I deeply apologize. I can tell you that I often call customers from the interest list and receive messages that voicemails aren't setup, are full, or am told that I have the wrong number. I also leave messages and do not hear back customers. I am sure that I have probably somewhere along the way missed a few customers, accidentally deleted a number from their phone number in my waiting list, etc. We keep the "waiting list" computer on a separate system from the computer that stores the orders (for security). Sometimes the "waiting list" computer is in use, so we log down interest list customers by hand on paper and have the data entered later. It's possible that we might have made a mistake this way as well. In the last couple of weeks in particular our volume of sales has tripled over this time last year, and many days our voicemail box is full, and our e-mails are overloaded. I am working on training new staff to help with this, but like anything, we cannot turn someone loose until they know our procedures inside and out. I would rather miss out on a sale than have a mistake made with a customer's order. I am currently about 10 days out on some voicemails, but I have been trying to take new calls as soon as they come in. First and foremost, if we take your order, we will inspect and ship your wheels in a timely fashion. If we get to where we have taken the maximum number of orders that we can ship in a reasonable time frame (usually we try to ship the same day or within 24 hours), we will simply stop taking any new orders to concentrate on customers who've already paid. I know other companies will take orders and then take weeks to ship. That is not the way I want to treat my paying customers.

Lastly, every single wheel (regardless of the model), is unpacked, inspected, and repacked before it ships the customer. I am very pleased to see that customers on this and other forums have commented on our packing. We take a lot of time, effort, and money to ensure that the wheels are properly inspected and packed before shipping to the customer. If we notice imperfections that don't meet our standards, we don't ship the wheels. As a result, this takes more time, and it requires a trained eye and other tools, and this leads to delays in reaching us. Again, I won't change our standards to ship more wheels / ship more quickly. This is a standard that I know for certain, based on my 15+ years in the industry, that other wheel brands simply do not do. While I use excellent factories to produce our wheels that I trust and have been using for many years, I still feel it is our duty to do the final inspection before the wheels leave our warehouse, and also to add extra packaging / protection to every wheel.

To summarize: Thank you all for your interest our wheels, and thank you very much to everyone who has ordered our wheels. I'd especially like to deeply thank all of those who've taken the time to post photos of their truck and express their satisfaction with FN Wheels. I also want to let anyone who is reading this know that we might be a little hard to get a hold of right now, and I do apologize for that, but the sheer popularity and volume of sales from the FX Pro wheel has increased our workload tremendously, and we're working on getting a handle on that without compromising standards or quality. It takes time to train new people to do things right to meet the demand for this wheel and other new wheels which we'll be releasing in the near future. Dustin was great to work with even with how busy he was. When i placed my order he was very clear on what i should expect and what time frame he believed it would take for him to get the wheels shipped to me. He treats his customers in a way that is disappearing in modern business and thats on top of a great high quality product, its somethings as a customer I always looks for. I couldn't be happier to be able to be one of his customers and from his interactions i feel he feels the same way towards myself and all of his customers. My order only took 12 minutes during the call but i did know exactly what i wanted as i had been reading every post about these wheels i could find.

As i said in previous posts my wheels were delivered a couple days ago and installed yesterday. I am happy that I can now share the new look that my truck is sporting and couldnt be happier with the product/service/packing. I took a few quick pics with my phone today when i was leaving work! Tires are KO2's 265/70r17 everything else is stock.

Bronze is over rated everyone should buy black or grey. I don't need to see everyone rocking these in bronze. My truck and the others that inspired me are enough. I never thought i would by bronze wheels unless i bought a blue STI. Then i saw a pick of an almost mirror image of my truck and I had to have the same look.

gold rims look better on Subaru Subarus are overrated Evo X is better I like how you say bronze is overrated when everybody on this thread has the same truck same body style same rims same tire size at least at the end of the day I can go to sleep knowing that I have a different truck with different rims with a different build and different size tires

Also, side note, Dustin is hard to get a hold of at times but as noted he's extremely busy. These wheels are totally worth any extra effort however and Dustin is a great to work with.

To say he delivers good customer service is an understatement. He is very thorough in explaining everything and in no way makes you feel like you need to hurry up! Knowing how busy he is I felt bad about taking his time up.

Also, has anyone found a touch-up pen for any of the colors of wheels? Does he offer anything like that?

I bought a blemished wheel to use as a spare. It had a small scrape inside the hub that I hit with some black spray paint. Really it took a couple seconds to actually find the flaw. I wouldn't hesitate buying for that purpose.

I'm actually considering buying them for my driving wheels. I figure eventually I'll scratch them anyway, so if it's on a hidden/inside area, it won't matter.

...but I guess that just depends on each wheel.
