To chime in on your OEM side steps and cover...mine came with the cover and I like it. It also came with the what they call OEM side steps and I did not like them...they were the black oval tube steps and came with a $450 price tag...you can find identical steps for around $200 which leads me to believe that these are not actually made by Toyota...the cover is not either but it is nice.

I myself went with the matte black textured N-Fab T1580CC-TX Side Steps...cheapest place I found em was Amazon for $380 shipped. Like them MUCH better than the stock oval tube steps and swapping them out was SUPER easy. Your truck already has the bolt holes and you will see plastic plugs in em if you look underneath.

I have also seen the stock predator steps....the N-Fabs don't hang as low so again I liked the N-Fabs more.

    Stock..

I drove a 2016 4Runner trail premium and a 2016 golf R. I loved the 4Runner and will have another one day soon.

I sold it about 6 months after having it, it was a nice car but it was way to small for me. I was also not completly impressed with the power, it seemed decent at first but I blame myself for thinking it was enough for the power fix I was looking for. Haha. The last 2 cars before that were close to 700hp so I should have known better. But if you are familiar with the platform and space now than I think you would like the car. Good luck

I'm actually looking for steps similar to the oem, I like the look and size. I would prefer a blacked out look so I like the ones in the first picture. How difficult are those to get and does it make sense to do oem or does aftermarket offer a similar option.

Ok cool so you like the oval steps...well 1st thing I would do is check out the 4sale forums on TW and then check your local craigslist...I sold mine for $200 on craigslist. Either way not hard to get!

Ive done business with this company and they usually have a 10% coupon :)

I just had mine done 2017 TRD sport 4x4. DC. Dealer said it only has two, I believe in front, but can't remember. Need to crawl under and check to make sure they did them.

Thanks again for the instructions, I'm at the dealer now having them look at all these concerns. They asked if something was wrong with the truck when I called this morning and I said not I just wanted to make sure my truck is not affecting by these possible risks. It seemed like they knew what I was talking about, no questions asked.

Much appreciated. I left the dealer without any issues, they said everything seems to be ok. Can I buy the parts on my own and complete the work myself or is this something the dealer will need to provide?

Just say your truck whistles in crosswinds and have dealer order the plugs for you or buy yourself.
