Have you considered contacting Magnaflow? They should be able to provide the answer.

Man you make a new exhaust thread almost every day. Don't trust what people say on the Internet for an exhaust, it is incredibly subjective. You need to try to find video clips online, hear it in person, or else you are gambling with what you buy.

The best option is to call magnaflow (since you have decided to go with them) and tell them what your wants are. They will point you to what they believe fits that. It is still subjective though, there is a risk you will end up hating the sound, that is just how exhausts work. One person can love it, another can think it sounds like a buzzing ricer.

Also, remember, at the end of the day it is a V6 Tacoma and you are just doing a muffler. Dont go into it with ridiculously high expectations expecting it to come out sounding like a rumbling V8 with headers.

Good luck, hope you enjoy what you get.

Just buy the kit and be done with it already...

Here's the part number: 19291 - already has a tip welded on from Magnaflow... its a tuned kit so you get the "proper" sound you are looking for if you want a black tip and that's just the "look" you want .... good luck.. ain't gonna find one cheap and you will have to cut off and weld on the new one which doesn't make much sense unless... wait for it.... mall crawl.

link to a thread with sound clip... google and a wallet are your friends.

Deep raspy sound? From your 3.5? You can't get there from here.

Download a v8 sound track for your stereo.

    Mufflers aren't magic.

I'm curious to what exhaust does sound good on this without the annoying "fart can" sound coming from the tailpipe that the Toyotas seems to have. I had a v6 S10 with a Flowmaster and that rumble was sweet, no fart sounds squirting out the tailpipe that Taco's seem to exhibit. Stock probably will stay on indefinitely till there is a decent sounding solution. It's the firing order of these motors I suppose.

I guess you don't have the Magnaflow exhaust then??

Yesterday I was sitting at a red light with a Dodge Challenger R/T in front if me V8 w/headers and after market exhaust.. just sitting at idle the car was LOUD... when light turned green we both hit the gas and both exhausts sounded VERY similar.. I could tell they were both "tuned" exhausts, as the resonant frequencies of both exhausts merged together... I could actually feel it and hear it.

My truck is not loud all the time only when I hit the gas hard. Driving that Dodge would drive me crazy

The magnaflow 44 sounds good or the Mbrp exaust. If you type in 2016 tacoma muffler on youtube there are sound clips.

I'm running the Flowmaster Super 40 (single in-dual out) on my Tacoma and it sounds just like what you would expect a 6 cylinder to sound.

    I like it. Some people don't. Oh well . . . .

Your 4.3 was a v8 with the back 2 cylinders lopped off. A very different configuration.

There ya go OP.... now you can put on a steel painted black tip thats going to rust in a year instead of a nice stainless steel tip that will last as long and your truck.
