I have a OnePlus 3. My old Samsung kicked the bucket (excuse for wanting a new phone... It's still being used every day).

It works well with the radio in my Taco. My requirements are: bluetooth that doesn't kill my battery, Spotify that works, Metallica.

Hear it all the time. I used to work in the cell phone industry and Android users seem to have something to prove. Funny thing is, most iphone users could care less about the android phone this guy or anyone carries. We are happy sheep. Leave us be :)

    On Topic:

iphone 6S and now iphone 7. No issues. Everything works as needed.

    Bent over isn't the correct word, but I'll give you another perspective;

As a *software developer*, having multiple platforms makes life miserable, because it means either doing everything twice (and there are a lot of hoops you need to jump through to write software for icrap) or pissing off 10% of your potential customers (that's apple's market share). So it really becomes a thorn in your side when you have to almost fight with 10% of people because you have no option but to tell them to get a better phone.

I mean consider putting in $300,000 to develop something, and it gets you a revenue of $350,000 on 90% of the population (Android market share). In order to build support for apple, that's going to add another, lets say $200,000, but it can only yield 1/9th of the revenue, or $38,900. That revenue doesn't justify the $200,000 cost of obtaining it. In fact, it takes you from $50,000 gross profit down to $111,100 LOSS. But now you STILL have those noisy complainers DEMANDING and ATTACKING you when you don't buy into apple. Even in the long term that low revenue doesn't add up, because it isn't sustainable for a long enough time to recoup the investment.

I can see that from your perspective, but his main points of glory were "biggest battery and best camera," he is certainly not in the same shoes or making a living in that software industry.

Getting worked up in a multi paragraph rant online and chanting "icrap" while standing on a platform regarding battery size and phone camera ability is really pretty.. strange.

Akin to shouting down Walmart products because Target has better curb appeal.

True enough. But the problem is that those people (like that guy) don't really have a rational point of view, so they just take whatever they see, probably out of context, and chant it mindlessly.

He'd probably be better off saying things like "apple = do as you're told, android = you are in charge of your own life". Which is true, to varying degrees. Especially with a bootloader unlocked nexus/pixel, where you can build and install Android from source, with whatever changes you can dream up. For a power user, its a no brainer choice to go with Android. And while apple may suffice for most people's simple uses, if you ask a power user for advice, they'll tell you to get what they like best, and if you want that same power user to give you free tech support, you'd be best off getting something they are actually familiar with.

As far as a phone's camera goes, I agree that it is a poor point to make. While one phone may have a marginally better camera than another, the differences are very small, and they still all suck. Good for taking a snap in an emergency, but if you want a good camera, you'd be better off paying HALF of the cost of the phone with the BEST phone camera for a middle of the road point and shoot camera that is 100 times better as a camera.

so basically you come one here and tear apart one company/phone brand and talk about how there is all this supporting evidence to back you, but your not willing to give any one that information. Well if you expect folks to believe you, we need supporting sources, if not its just you typing to start a shit storm.

Business is business, if it doesn't make sense money wise, don't do it. Free market says if you don't like what one offers then go get the other. So what people complain, again if they want what your offering then they will get the correct platform to use it.

The problem is that the apple platform attracts a certain kind of noisy people with an exaggerated sense of entitlement.

Again, they will either get over it, or move to the platform where they can get it.

bout time that entitlement gets stomped.

That would be nice, if it was reality, but it isn't. With all of the marketing they get out of the left winged media (like CNN), the more you tell them to drop dead, the pushier they get.

If that android fan boy "did his research" he'd see that no matter what specs on paper say the iPhone is always smoother and performs a lot faster then the other competitors. Stats on paper are just that. I want real world performance with reliability. Android has a ton of great feature but force closes, shut offs and freezing plagues anything besides vanilla android. I always have one of each device so I am not a loyalist by any means but apples phones is far superior other then customization

So when do we stop this? As a behaviorist, the more you allow some one to do something, the more normal it becomes and thus more difficult to change. Any business that allows things like this to change their ways and then lose money, needs to rethink before they go in the red allowing this stuff to guide them.

I suppose that depends on what side of the fence you stand on. Seems like Apple fans tend to shit all over Android, and Android all over Apple. I'd go out on a limb and say 95% of both groups only use their phone as a phone, text machine, camera, and internet browser, but they all share the common notion that whatever they have is best, so that leaves a large group of people repeating what the 5% claims and have no actual clue why they say what they say.

Well first off, apple is NOT smoother or faster than Android.
Like I've said before, don't blame Android for SAMDUNG's shortcomings. Samdung is glitchy, crashy, and slow. It is NOT representative of Android, since reality is that they butcher it so much that there isn't much of Android left. If they can't do it well (and they can't), then they shouldn't try. Just leave Android alone, real Android (AOSP) looks tons better than that cartoonish samsung crap, and actually performs well.

Of course, there is more to the samsung crashyness than just messing with the Android level of it, they also cause damage to the Linux Kernel that runs the thing from the lowest level. I've rewritten samsung damaged kernels. It takes a LOT of work. The linux kernel build scripts do a lot of error checking, leave warnings, and errors behind, or downright refuse to continue when certain conditions are or are not met. Samsung turns off ALL of the warnings and errors and forces code to compile despite conditions being wrong!!!

Solely out of curiosity, what are your thoughts regarding your quoted statement and the following two articles which seem to suggest a different sales ratio (in general)?

Apple's iOS App Store now generating 4x revenues per app vs Android Google Play

The iPhone crushes every other phone in performance...period. I was going to switch my note 5 to the 7 until they started blowing up. I am not a loyalist to any brand. Facts are facts

I didn't say that I did let them get their way. I don't, but unfortunately, I am only me and only speak for myself. Others don't get it -- they listen to all the noisy apple fanatics and think that the level of noise means that there are a lot of them, when really it is just a few making a HOLY CRAP ton of noise. And THOSE outfits bend and take the apple all the way up!
