They were working on getting you the warranty?
    What a joke.
How about "working" on a vehicle swap, keep a happy customer, fix the new lemon old one and sell it as a dealer demo certified?
God bless your patience man, I would be an upset crazy woman.

Could be true for some, this truck does have some small issues, still has a lot of nice features over the other generations.

I would wait for the Lemon law time requirements, then I would push for extended warranty on any new Toyota i got during this process.

None at all. Though it's only 3 weeks old with 600 miles on it. 300 of those were from the dealer going to pick it up.

Yeah if I *had* to keep that truck it would definitely *have* an extended warranty.
There's been a few TW 3GEN'ers who have had their trucks torn down who have received extended warranties.
    @ZachMX for instance.
As @cosmicfires said, wait (like the dude has a choice) for lemon law buh bye welcome new truck.

First lawyer up. Always. Second most Toyota trucks are being assembled in Mexico. That alone should explain everything.

That's not how it works. You have to let them have multiple attempts to fix an issue to lemon it. Can't just say there was a thing wrong take it back right now. I think they get 3 attempts to fix the same issue in a year in most places. Luckily you have one of the pretty rare issues and I think your issue is just an odd defective part and doesn't mean the whole truck is junk, you probably won't have this problem a second time. I mean, ya, the 3rd gen might be, but not necessarily because of this issue. Certainly express your concern to Corp and see if they will give you an extended warranty to settle your fears, although don't straight up ask for it

    • repair attempts for any substantial defect or combination of defects total 15 or more business days, not necessarily all at one time.

And I would flat out directly tell them I want the extended, don't give them any wiggle room.

Ok, guess I was wrong. Hadn't heard of that part. I've known people to get a lot of crap from Corp when they straight up ask. Personally would see if they offer it first and if they don't then ask. But that's just me

Mine is Texas, although no major issues, it's not any better than mex. Actually it seems Mexican trucks might be a little better from what I've heard, although most issues don't discriminate

Would 15 days still be in effect with back ordered parts? Wonder if they will say they haven't actually worked on the truck so doesn't apply to time line. It probably does but I just foresee a battle ahead. I got my truck after I knew of these issues, probably wouldn't have if I had known. Even though my truck is fine and I like it, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to lemon it and get a 15 instead, or even a tundra at this point

I would argue and get a lawyer involved if after 15 business days. It is not the truck owners fault and thats why the lemon laws are there.

Backordered parts do not matter, time does. MA has a consumer friendly protection law. The Texas lemon law is not consumer friendly.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
That's a great reason to replace a vehicle.
