Ok. yea I spent some time on the site looking at a few options and it seems like each option is different based on trim and even color. It's also very possible that I'm doing it wrong.

its my understanding that all double cabs (at least Sport and up) have the power slider standard.

TRD's are definitely going to have premium entune + apps (2017s). Upgraded electronics is where the JBLs and climate control come in...not sure what else I'm leaving out of that. The Toyota brochure helps shed light on the options as well...

    Man did I get HOSED.

Went to pick it up-test drove it, my fiance drove it. Everything was going fine until I told them in order for me to take delivery I want the following checked:
    1. Check the ATF fluid level
    2. Check the grease (as recommended here)
    3. Check the torque on the U-bolts

Thats when the "inventory manager" came up to me and asked where I was getting this information, and that all Tacoma's are PDI before they get to the dealer. I said I had a reputable source (represent!) and that I would not buy the truck without these inspections here at the dealership. He then proceeded to tell me I would have to pay for the service...after I got done laughing, I proceeded to tell him that I would not pay for anything of the sort, and that I'm not the one who has to sell the truck. He walked away (like a dumb idiot).

After that, I was informed that the tonneau cover that was worked into the deal (@ I pay half, dealer pays half) was actually more expensive than I was quoted over the phone. They quoted me an additional $129 for installation on the cover too. This is my fault, I are responsibility for not getting this in writing. But I did let them know that the only way I would buy this truck at this point was if the cover was free.

Additionally, this dealership offers one of those "lifetime warranty" included. You know, the ones that are more like an insurance plan than a warranty? So when I told them I needed the paperwork that thoroughly explains the warranty and process and stipulations, they wanted to take me to the service manager to ask him about it. How the hell is he going to know? This is part of my DNA, I need everything in writing and I want to see the "regulations"...something the military burned into my ass before I left.

Luckily, I have a dealer in panama city that will sell the same truck to me for almost $1000 less (no gimmicky lifetime warranty though).
SO I walked OUT - I'm most likely going with my guy at the other dealership who I trust (bought from him in the past). However, no tonneau cover. UNLESS, this dealership calls back and offers me even less. Hell, they are in a tough spot because they had the truck delivered so I figure its worth a shot...

The POWER OF THE WALKOUT IS REAL!

They called me just now and offered the truck at the price I wanted originally and are including the tri fold tonneau!

Yes. Doing them in the AM. Just goes to show that when they say "that's the lowest we can go" it's almost always not the case.

Does that mean that you didn't get the tonneau from the dealer, or that you just took it off for your bike trip?

Glad you made it home in one piece! Combat is hell on the body and soul. Gonna be really difficult to get that kinda adrenaline high again.

Truck looks Wicked Good. Great job negotiating everything into the deal.

much thanks for all of TW help! - Got confirmation that the tonneau will be here wednesday. Told the parts guy to keep me updated and I will include him in my survey for a job well done.

I forgot to mention, they were very adamant about the survey I would be getting. I have a feeling that has a big impact on their dealership.
