I read a few response blaming "valve body". When you say valve body, are you referring to the throttle body or the actual valve in the head, or other parts??

After having the TSB done awhile back, I noticed only a short term improvement. Recently, i'be been getting a weird vibration that I could feel at the gas pedal and almost at the steering wheel. It usually occurs at low rpm. I decided enough is enough and traded my 2106 Tacoma Limited for a 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6 Limited. I only owned it for 4 months and took a loss on trade in. But it was worth it. I'd rather loose a few thousand on trade in then spend the next 5 years driving a truck with a poorly designed transmission and drivetrain system. Good luck to you guys. I'm sure if more folks jump ship like I did, then Toyota might actually start fixing the numerous issues with the newly redesigned 3rd generation Tacoma. Also my Taco was built in Mexico and my Outback was built in Indiana. It's nice to support American jobs.

I have an 16 TACO BR/SR 4 door 2.7 with 3200 miles live in S Florida unsure if I have any issues this thread speaks of. My first 6 month or 5000 mile service checkup is Sun OCT 16. Does not seem to lurch from R to D some delay but not what I have seen in this thread.
Will have them check the AT fluid for sure unsure if I have any other issues it does feels sluggish at times when auto trans is shifting. Not many hills in S FL HAHA may be a MT TRASHMORE here or there. Did print the enhancement sheet I found.

At this point, I don't. I think it will be a little while. They needy transmission for testing. It will take time.

I am referring to the valve body of the transmission. You can read about it in the below link. Cheers

The sluggishness is caused by the truck running in an efficiency mode by default. This is not a defect. You can use ECT mode to pep it up a little, but you will lose a few MPG.

Just an FYI before the TSB my truck wouldn't do a burnout, after TSB no issues lights them right up..

My truck is lifted with mudders and it shifts into overdrive with no issues now before i had to trick it to shift up

I don't know what you have going on in your truck. My truck will not even chirp the tires. Mine is a stock TRDOR.

    Thanks For The Info
And I am not using the ECT mode
And am getting around 21 MPG
Think I will leave the ECT off
Will still get ATF checked for correct level
Do any of you think I still need the enhancements down loaded
or is this just a V6 issue
Great Place for All your TACO NEEDS

Tested it again on my way to work. The freeway is about 3-4 miles of mostly flat road. The truck was fully warm. It managed to make it all the way on the freeway without ever shifting out of fourth. I went up to almost 80 then coasted down to 55. Went from ~4200 RPM all the way down to ~2500 without ever shifting. Also tried neutral throttle a bunch of times. Accelerated/Decelerated. Tried to get it to shift. Never left fourth.

Your Tacoma has an extreme case of inefficient operation, Toyota needs to address this issue. Perhaps to no avail contacting Toyota Corporate concerning this issue. My Tacoma has at times performed to this disappointing nature. The 2016 Tacoma owners deserve to be heard in regards to the many Ill operation habits. After three refusals to have Toyota field rep. experience this engineering debacle, I wish you good luck. For all that have had positive results with tab-0077-16, I am thrilled, however the current issues experienced by many do not need to be ignored by the Toyota Corporation. Good luck William

Mine has 285's I wonder if that has something to do with it? Does anyone else have this "stuck in fourth" thing? It seems to have popped up recently well after I installed my tires. I assume the dealer will just blame the tires and send me on my way.

Enjoy it while it lasts for 1000 to 1500 miles. Then everything goes back to the way it was except the R to D and P to D delay. That is permanently fixed. Well at least for the 2100 miles since mine was done anyway. Hate to burst your bubble but that is just the facts. At this rate, being under warranty for 80,000 miles for this TSB, I only need to get this TSB done 48 more times. Enjoy it.

We are all wondering that. Trust me. It goes back. Some people are not getting 1000 miles out of it. You should read this entire thread. My 1-2 and 2-3 slippy-slide-flare shift came back around 1500 miles. Now just waiting for the NEXT update. Most of us do not believe it is a real update but more of a factory reset that provides a temporary placebo effect. There is chatter of a new update. Might be the same guy with a bridge for sale that started that rumor. Whatever you may think it is absolutely a temporary fix. My temporary solution is to use ect through the gears and then cut ect off when I get to cruising speed. Costs me 1-2 mpg but at least it shifts like it did after the TSB by doing it that way. Like I said enjoy it while it lasts. Read the results of my survey at the thread titled Petition/Poll/Survey 2016+ V6 Automatic Transmission Problems.
NOTE 17 PEOPLE HAD PROBLEMS RETURN AFTER THE TSB. 21 PEOPLE NEVER HAD ANY TRANSMISSION TROUBLE. SO THERE IS BASICALLY A 50-50 CHANCE ANYONE WITH A NEW TACOMA WILL HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS.
