Plasti-Dip definitely isn't bullet proof. But, it still pretty durable! When I used it I put several coats of sealer on it. Waited like two days first to let the plasti really dry.

I wanted a more matte look, so that's why I didn't use the glossafier.

Blacked out grille and emblems, that's about it for now
I watched the video on YouTube "dip your car " and the owner of plastic dip stated you have to wash and clean it with a certain rag kinda like a shammy , if you use a rag or micro fiber it will leave lint and scratches

I dipped my V6 and bought the TACOMA emblems in black. I will never do that again. Getting the old double sided tape off was a bitch. If I had it to do over, I would have dipped the emblems. I did the V6 in about twenty minutes. I had already ordered the emblems. Just so you know, dipping is easier and for the guy that scratched the bug out of it, let it cure and it's pretty tough. I plastidipped all the silver parts on my FJ Cruiser and had it two more years before I sold it. Matched everything else and still looked great.

image.jpg My intentions are to dip the chrome bezel and replace the toyota emblem with another. Does the sr5 grill need to be dipped as well? I'd like to have it glossy to match the truck.

I'm about to do some grille derpage and need some advice.
Did anyone paint their condensor as it is natural aluminum color? Or is it OK as is?
I'm thinking some high temp flat black.

I don't think that would be wise... you might lower the cooling effect of the condenser...!!

I wouldn't. Paint the condenser that would slow it down when it's cooling the gas back into liquid and the paint might clog up the fins

It would lower the cooling effect. Be like putting a jacket on when you go outsude

Did you take your mirrors off or did them while they were on the car?

Finished the grill! Just following someone's post on here how to remove the grill. The tabs were a pain in the rear but I was able to get it off with only breaking one! Did 7ish coats. We will see how it holds up!

Next is going to be the wheel fenders and tires...

Who has done tires? Is it easier to take them off or paint them while they are on the car? I want all flat matte black (plastidip the best?) I'm ordering black lugnuts today.

You could leave them on, but you definitely need to make sure you cover your rotors and calipers, you don't want derp on any of that. Much easier if you take your wheels off. Slide index cards between the rim and tire which helps prevent over spray and cuts down taping and masking prep.
I dipped my lug nuts on my last car. As long as you let it cure they should be okay. Mine lasted for about 2 years with the rotations every 6 months
