I do have 265/65 r17 and proportionally speaking the tires look wide enough... if you see the truck from front or back the tire finish exactly where the fender ends.. I personally don't like when the tire is wider than the body of the truck...

Talking about getting into speed, yes, is slow... I'm almost always the slower on the stop lights... hahahaha maybe it's me but I have a light foot... im planning to have this truck like forever so I treat it with looooveeee...

I've been loving my SR 4x4 5-Speed. 265's only cost me 1.25mpg, and I live in the mountains and still getting 20.5 -21.5mpg. I rally the $hit out of mine, and I have no doubt it will run forever. I run Amsoil Signature Synthetic and the larger Wix Extreme 51516XP filter (crosses to a Fram PH3600) and is twice the size as stock.

I'm actually surprised at the power it has for being a fairly heavy vehicle with a small engine. Now, hills on the other hand feel like someone let the air out of the tires.

My truck was 24.4k with convenience package, and I feel it was the best deal out there compared to all the other models of tacomas and other comparable mid sized trucks.

I have big plans for mine once the new wears off.

I rep the SR like a boss!

I like the SR. If something happened to my current rig...I'd rock one. But damn Toyota for not offering a 5-speed in the 2wd. :angrygirl:

Just got my 2017 SR this past Sunday, I absolutely love this truck. Truck came with the upgraded tires and wheels, although I may swap out the wheels later down the road.

Hey so anyone know why some trucks came with the clear 3rd brake light and some came with the red light?

I'm pretty sure clear includes the cargo light and is only available on the double cab and the red has no cargo light and comes with the access cabs.

I can answer this for you as Vlocos has disappeared from this forum. His truck is a V6.

The V6 automatic with 285's basically has a useless 6th gear and marginally useful 5th gear on stock gearing. The 2.7 would presumably be even worse. Plan on regearing, I'll be going 4.88 over the winter.

I think acess cabs come with the red and double cabs come with the clear.

That's what I was thinking. With the 2.7 I'll need to regear to 4.88. But with my 3.5 I was running 10 ply 285s and didn't have any problems. The truck handled it great!

I was still about 2-2.5" clear of the bump stops, hauled it about 15 miles with absolutely no struggle. It even pulled up a few hills in 4th, which I anticipated might need 3rd.

I hauled 10 wet bales of straws in my 2.7 two weeks ago. Honestly didn't really notice they were back there. It was probably in the neighborhood of 500 lbs. Pretty pleased.
