For invoice, I use Edmunds. It gives me a ballpark. Also, over at TS, they have a dealer section ) or did have. I PM'd one of them my numbers & they were extremely helpful. I use Edmunds True Market Value (TMV), autotrader, craigslist, the forums to see how the market is in my region when pricing my vehicles or other toys. Guides are great but have found much more leverage negotiating after selling my stuff privately. No trade helps imo but understand not everyone does it or cares to.

The key I believe when you see numbers posted here is to keep in mind pricing differs regionally. Trucks where I live sell no matter what. Sooner or later, the days get shorter, hunting season & mother nature arrive meaning hunker down & get ready.

I hope you get the most for your trade & a killer deal on a 09!

the question u have to ask youself are... are u in a dire need of the truck? do u have options? maybe a frontier (don't get ford of chevY, they suck). How many dealers around u? here in nj I have like tons and tons of time... so competition is fierce!! If u need to get a new vehicle cause urs broke down and can't run no more... then pull the trigger, but if the truck is a not a necessity then play around... there's plenty of them out there. u have the ball in the court!! do ur best to win!!

Thanks I would love to get a '09 but it is going to be hard considering I do not want to put my truck back to factory to trade it in until I know the numbers they will give me for it and it all works out. Would suck to put it back to factory only to drive it around for a month and then not get a new one and have to put it all back on this one. Ohh well. Hopefully Toyota can figure out why my truck is having the electrical nightmares and I will quit being pissed off at this truck.... It only has 28,000 miles shouldn't really need a new truck, but with these issues, I want one....

You seriously didn't recommend a frontier to replace my tacoma did you.....

Sorry, but I am a Tacoma/Toyota man, and I will pay what needs to be paid to get one, right now, mine is in the shop and it will get fixed. Do I want a new one so I know the history of the truck, me! Yeah I do, but I don't have to have one. No way in hell will I drive a Nissan truck..sorry but they are in the same category as ford/gm/dodge....there is only one real off road worthy small/mid size truck and that is the tacoma.....

There is a reason I have the tatoo of trd on my leg....look at my avatar, that is my leg.

It started as a check engine, then it turned into 5 codes and the truck in "limp" mode and them saying that my MAF was bad, now they put a new MAF in and it didn't fix it so today they have it and hopefully will get it sorted out....but the thing is, I wanted them to sort it out two weeks ago, when I had time to get rid of the truck. They just kept resetting the check engine light and saying, see how it takes to come back on. At first they said that MAF went bad because I took out the secondary filter, now that that isn't what was wrong they are saying that I probably caused this because (1)I have tapped into the ignition to trigger the fog lights (2) Rewired the four wheel drive computer to be able to engage the locker anytime or (3) dissconnected the TPMS light. All three of which were done 6 months ago and all three mods work just fine today.... Just getting annoying......

Can you believe he suggested a frontier instead of a tacoma...... some people

I dont mind the frontier if the Nismo version that's like dirt cheap... the bed is smaller but it comes with a spray on bed liner which is cool! Plus has some more balls than the tacoma. Tacoma and frontier are the only I would consider... maybe the FJ but Suzuki just did a joint-venture with Nissan so their new pick ups is going to be made with frontier factory line too.

I want to get a tacoma too, just waiting to save more... I live in NJ, so I need to pay out of my ass no matter what.. :D
