Thanks Chris! This has been taking up my time the past 4 days haha I was trying very hard to make a deadline for a guy who was buying my old bumper as he was passing through town. It all worked out thankfully!

haha well thank you. I never thought I would see myself getting a high clearance bumper and cutting that much off the truck...If I had only known 5.5 years ago what I was going to do to this truck  :sawzall: :welder:

I love the reactions I get from people when I tell them I cut my truck up. Doesn't bother me a bit.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I am going to try to knock the cab mounts out next weekend and since the welders gonna be out I'm working on a template for a small CB mount near the tailgate that I can slip through 2 bolts back there.

You should be more than pleased with the bumper when you get it (I think you were the one getting one also, from the BF Thread). Billy does great work.

man, I get more "you dont actually let that thing leave the road with all that nice stuff on it do ya?" than I could care for. people see all these trucks on 6" blocks and chrome wheels and cant believe people like us (TW ppl) actually builld/modify/and use these trucks for fun/work.

Got the passenger side done today. ended up starting an hour and a half late and this took way more time than I thought (but I also was doing it solo and had a lot of inside cab/outside cab back and forth going on. I know it will be WAY worth it once complete, but this is one project I cannot wait to be over.

    Ground down
    ground down.jpg

flap disc'd and ready for welding
    flap disc'd.jpg

welded. I was able to weld the inside and outside of the vertical sides and the inside of the top. I have no doubt its not going anywhere

Looks good now we just need to convince someone else to going our group of body mount relocation haha. But in all reality it is a pain in the ass jumping from inside the cab to under the truck multiple times...

Why do you have to go from inside to underneath so much? Is it just to get things lined up? Would a second set of hands help?

thats exactly it. trying to eye the pilot hole and going into the cab to drill the 1 1/2" hole then back underneath to make the 1/2" bolt hole then back inside and spanning your arms under the door so you can hold the bolt with 1 hand and nut with the other and get the threads started, doing that for both bolts is just a pain. theres quite a bit of checking and rechecking for alignment. I dont even think my bolt is perfectly straight (the pic is a little crooked so it makes it worse haha) but since I installed the new body bushings that actually give more than the stock, im not worried about it.
