    Hey all! I work in the Service Department for a local Toyota dealership. I have had my Nav/Radio/EnTune system restart on me several times.
    First time: Restarted/rebooted 3 times within 30 seconds and then was fine. Driving conditions were normal. Highway, summer, warm, ect. Second time: It did the same thing as the first time, but conditions were rainy, a little colder temps, ect. So from that (self) conclusion, temp or weather conditions shouldn't have been a factor. Third time (10/14/16): Restarted several times, as it has done in the past, while going only a block then back. Then, after I got off shift, for approximately half of an hour, continuously restarted/rebooted itself on my drive to my destination.

    My master tech stated that there are, in fact, no TSB's (Toyota Service Bulletins), or updates yet available for my 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD OR, build date 6/6/16... And that I must wait for that TSB to be announced/posted...

    For those of you experiencing the same issue. I URGE YOU TO GET IT CHECKED OUT AT YOUR LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!!! The more that this is reported, the sooner TOYOTA will look into and remedy the situation!

    Also: It's covered under your WARRANTY!!! Get EVERYTHING documented! If, for some unforsaken reason, it's remedy isn't available until after your warranty expires, you will have proof that it was documented (the more often, the better) and it should be covered!

    A lot of the 'original' 3rd Gen's have the older (2015) systems, so there might already be a TSB out for them... that's why I posted my build date in the thread... Just in case! I have heard that the older ones are affected and a remedy is available, but the newer built ones still have issues... Or worse, new ones...

    Just like any new technology... There will be bugs. But if we (Taco Owners) don't 'report' them, they'll never know!

    As long as it's documented! Keep it going... The more documentation Corporate sees, the better/quicker they'll remedy the situations.

    Also, when it does happen, it doesn't 'throw codes' like a check engine light would... So get it checked, at least for proof & documentation purposes every time it happens!

    I was having a similar problem and had TS-B-0103-16 applied at my dealer two months ago and it hasn't repeated since. My 2016 has an earlier build date so it may not apply to yours but this is from the TS-B:

    Mine just did this after 10k miles...
    Had the service done and the transmission TSB recently. Happened at least 10 times during one trip.
    I was trying different things while I was driving and noticed that it didn't restart if the radio was on.

    Anyway, I haven't noticed it since.

    Do not plug your iphone into the usb slot while it's connected to bluetooth, that will absolutely cause the system to restart many times.

    mine rebooted 5 times today just sitting in the parking lot listening to music. My iphone was connected and will try if my S7 cure the problem.

    No it won't. Maybe yours does, but mine only occasionally reboots, and it does it far more frequently when my phone is NOT connected via USB.

    I've had mine in 3 times for the reboot issue. Mine has only done it in the rain, which it seldom is in Texas. Dealer has updated software, could not duplicate, blah blah blah. Hope they get this taken care of soon, because it wipes out your GPS tracks every time, and hunting season is here.

    Yes it can and does. This is even referenced in the owners manual.

    I have the same issue, usually when raining. So now when it rains I record video on my phone of the entire screen, so now I have documentation to take to the service department. Since they can never duplicate

    Ok peeps! I have had mine 'diagnosed' 3 times... My unit is in the June 2016 build, so no TSB yet still. Since that is the case, they ordered a new head unit for me and have had no issues since then! After 3 diagnoses, they must do something... This is what they did to my Taco. Since this issue has been seen in other next gen builds (i.e.: highlander, T4R, ect...) they will replace after the allotted 3 diagnostics services. Be open, polite and, at times demanding, with your service advisor. Some dealerships will try to screw you ( I know, I luckily work for a great one that won't), but be persistent and report it every time, Keep a log of dates/times when it happens! Take video if you can to show them if they can't 'duplicate' the issue.
