in the red side view it is clear the bar is not made specifically for the 2016. the down bars on both sides should have started with a 22 degree bend then another 22 degree bend before the frame attaching point. that way it would hug the slant of the lower front. i want one because the whole front is plastic, someone backs into be while it is parked i will have hundreds of dollars in broken plastic. would like to do something for the rear also.

Thats basically where I was at. The stock bumper is absolute shit and for low speed fender-bender type accidents. I wanted to add something a little more substantial. The approach angle is pretty bad, though. But until I can get another vehicle, the wheeling will not be very intensive anyway.

I hope you never get into a fender bender. That thing looks like it will just bend into your grill and cause more damage.
And I'm sorry but I think that thing looks absolutely hideous.

the first fender bender someone gets in with a bullbar, they will be regretting having it haha.

The amount of damage they cause. What could just be a dented bumper often turns into a damaged radiator as well.
Ugly accessories with 0 gain IMO

So. I may sound ignorant right now but I ask this. What is the purpose of a bull bar? Just incase you hit something? My opinion and remember this is my opinion so don't get bent out of shape but to me this destroys the look of the truck, your approach angle is gone and your adding extra length to a nose that's already long enough. @Kev16 that bar is more of a light bar bracket. If you hit anything, the object will just fold around the bar and destroy your frontend. Again boys and girls, my opinions.

I would like to respectful voice my opinion that I believe bull bars are incredibly tacky.
Lighting and protection can be greatly improved by going different routes.

From what I understand they're meant so in a fender bender your bumper is protected but they're often made from cheap Chinese metal that they're utter fuckin shit and just bend into the rad and cause even more damage.

Seriously I've bent some by hand they're that fuckin shitty. Otherwise yep they destroy approach angle and look terrible. I think the only time they don't cause damage is if you bump a car while parallel parking. Anything over 20km and they'll often bend

Why not add some functionality to the bull bar style while keeping a way better angle of approach, with something like this from

Also not a fan of bull bars. SSO slim line bumper for added functionality, improved look, while still maintaining more of a stock like appearance if you don't want to go full plate bumper. Here is mine.

Now that's what I'm talking about! ! I'd put that on my rig. Hell if I don't end up with a full steel bumper, I may look at this. It's functional and looks neat. May not totally protect your front end but it looks like you could actually use it.

Full steel bumper you say...they got you covered too and with one hell of a steel bumper capable of holding up to a 12K winch. The first picture isn't mine since mine is modified, I added the regular bumper. The second picture is my bumper with a Smittybilt X20 12K lb winch. 2016-Tacoma-3rd-Gen-Overland-Series-Front-Bumper-Full-Size-No-Cut-3-500x650@2x.jpg 20160827_164621.jpg

I wish that bar was more squared up.
I find the slants of the barwork out of place lol.
I was looking at that one for a while but something about the way the bars are around the lights and grill really bother me.

Did you pick the rig up from california yet?

why does the paint on your new fenders look off from the rest? Is it just the lighting?

Also saw my first quicksand in person yesterday. Like many have said that color does not do justice online. It looks amazing in person.

It is a shade off, not sure if it's due to the fiberglass or the guy that did them not matching the paint right.
That's what I get for not waiting for my brother in law you paint them in his body shop. Either way they'll be repainted once I get the bed sides on. This next time my brother in law will have my truck in his shop for the repaint and line-x on the edges of my fenders (similar to the original over fenders)
