@ChasVS Yours looks perfect and how I was expecting mine to look like. I don't care if I have to grind it down, but if Truxedo can do something about it to make it work as advertised and perceived when I bought then I'm all for that! Thanks for the picture.

    @jake72 is yours a 5' or 6' bed?

I just looked at it actually, I'm up in Vermont this weekend so don't check my phone as often as I do when I'm not on vacation.

I see others have the issue and I don't mind grinding the rail down. The work @mandavdle did makes it look like it should come from the factory. @mandavdle did you hear from Truxedo on the issue after you brought it up to them?

I have the OEM cover and I like. I am pretty rough with it and it works greats. It secures gear that I do not want to be out in the open or fly out. I could care less about a little water or dust. If I needed a complete seal I would have bought a 4runner. You need to keep all water out, this one is not for you.

I've got the long bed. I'd suggest loosening all the bolts and shifting the rails around until they fit just right. It took me a couple tries to get it just so. Don't think there's a need to do any grinding. At first it didn't seem to be fitting right, but then I noticed I had the cover rails too far over the top edge of the bed. Once I did some shifting around it fell into place. Only final adjustment was for the slight fit issue of the cover cross bars. loosened the rear and center connections and pushed it out a touch and now it's just fine as it should be. This is my 3rd Truxedo cover on three different trucks and never a problem!

Thanks for the info. Yours looks pretty good. There is no way mine will "fall into place". If I move the rails around to fall into a level spot between the bed caps, the opening is too narrow for the cover to fit and there is a large gap between the rail and the edge of the bed. The only way is to have the rails sit on top of the bed until I can (or Truxedo) do something with the rails.

Yeah, I played around with one of the rails for over an hour on Friday and no way in hell will it work. If I put them closer it will sit right but the seal isn't wide enough and there's a gap.

or if you're that concerned get some sort of pelican storage bin and keep it in there as well for added weather protection.

I didn't mean to give the impression that the rails fell between the edge of the bed. I've added a couple shots from the end and side to show what I meant to say. Hope these help.

After looking at your 2nd & 3rd pictures I may dicker with mine again before winter. I see in your last picture you have the rail end flush with the the little indent right in front of the tailgate. I left mine 3/8" of an inch from the tailgate, with the tailgate closed like the instructions said to do. Mine sits high just a tad but nothing like I have seen others.

Love OEM tonneau cover. It's very durable and super easy to remove if I need to hual something big. No leak so far.

i just ordered the diamondback SE. Price is ok until you pay for black color, shipping and tax. Supposedly solid and waterproof. More useful cover since can bolt on attachments etc and still easily remove. You give up the "air" rights with most covers. Ill post the install in a couple of weeks upon arrival.

Great pictures. There is no way I could move the rails that far inward and still allow the cover to fit in between the rails. You can see in my picture that the cover is barely clearing the rail as is.

I have the undercover tonneau on my gen2 and it literally keeps dust and water out perfectly. To say that in Florida is a feat. I bought it because I put my bunker gear for work in the bed and I needed the locking security. That being said...I will not get it again. It is terrible for loading the bed and when you take it off you need a lot of space to store it. I will be purchasing a metal roll type this time. If you don't need to haul stuff often then it really can't be beat though.

Yeah, your rail doesn't even look like mine in the way the outside edge is shaped to fit the along the inside edge of the bed cap. I bet you were sent the wrong width cover! The PN/SKU for my Long Bed Lo Pro QT Cover was TRX-557001. Is that the same as yours? If you have a SB then it will be different.
Just to check, what does the driver's side look like? How is the rail set along the bed cap edge on that side?

Mine is the 557001. I have a double cab long bed and am having the issue. I'll try to fix next week but it doesn't look fixable without some alteration.
If I love thentruxedo rail tonfot like yours on the inside there's at least an 1/8 gap. Maybe even 1/4

I have a 2017 Taco with Access Cab and 6' bed. The Truxedo Lo Pro QT is 557001. Rail is same on both driver and passenger sides. I agree, something not right here.

Yeah, you have the same truck I do. That cover rail isn't the same as mine as you can see by the shape of the section that meets the bed cap edge.
Also looks like I'm missing the end cap to that rail. Sent Truxedo a note to see if they'll send me one.
