I have a 2015 Tacoma SR5 with 12,000 miles. When turning the veh. on, the Maint. Required light stays on and flashes for about 10 sec., it then goes out. This has never happened before and it does it every time I start the veh. This obviously is not normal does anyone have any thoughts. The next time I am supposed to take it in for servicing is when it reaches 15,000 miles or Dec. 2016 which ever comes first.

You can try to reset it by disconnecting the batt .If it comes back you have a issue and should get it looked at or get a mntc code with a OBD2 diagnostic tool.

    Good luck
It could be worst you could own a 3rd gen

    LOL

    From another site:

    To turning off the Maintenance Light on 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 Toyota Tacoma, conform to the following instructions:
    • Turn the ignition switch to the “On” position, but do not start the engine
    • Press the odometer button until you see “TRIP A” on the little display
    • Next, turn the ignition “off”
    • Press and hold the Trip Odometer Reset button, and turn the ignition switch to the “On” position
    • Continue to hold down the Trip Odometer Reset button until “000000” MILES appears on the display and the maintenance light turns off.
The video in the article stated to push the trip odometer button in as you turn off the ignition and turn it on again. On my 2015 the odometer went to bars ----- and then counted down -----, ----, ---, --, -, and then reset.
