Since the Tacos don't come with a rear window defogger/defroster, anyone have any tips on how to defog etc?

I live in Canada, icing windows is not uncommon lol, same with fogging up in the winter.
Never owned a vehicle that didn't have a defroster for the rear window.

Add rainx to your winterization arsenal, it will help a bit, not much else to do. The rear doesnt ice up as much as youd think tho, possibly due to the window being verticle instead of being on a bit of an angle allowing build up.
You should also fluid film spray your new car undercarriage to prevent rust. I found some on kijiji last year for a fraction of the store price

Never had a problem on my 2G. Haven't tried yet on the 3G. Don't think you need to worry.

Once upon a time before rear defrosters came standard on most vehicles I would buy aftermarket defroster for my rear glass, but idk if you can still buy them or where.
But you CAN install the rear power window form a '17 and let that cold Canadian air in so you can C??
I just defog my side mirrors and use my rear view camera though

    RainX should help too
    Cheers!

    nope.
just ordered my 17 and test drove them, doesn't have it.
only new thing on the 17 seems to be the rear power window.

Rear window fogging/icing is NOT an issue in Canada..!! OR anywhere else..! Unless, of course you have Imported all kinds of moisture via your boots, etc. into the truck.... If it's a "mushy" day around -2 deg. and the Weather Techs fill up with H2O, then remove it... It you don't and it drops to -40 overnite... you might have an issue..

I'm in the habit of keeping the WT's free of standing H20, so that kinda thing don't happen..

No need for another electronic thingy...!!

Only had rear defrost on the last truck. Never used it much really. The back window really doesn't need it. What would you do if you had a camper on ;)

Just clean side windows and use your mirrors. Good to go! Plus you've got a backup camera to boot. Man these are good times, we are spoiled for sure.

If you have a splash of Rye left over from the night before would work, but what a waste, lol. Better to use the recycled Rye, apply hot!

I don't worry about it. Hit the mirror heaters. After 20 seconds I'm good to go. I don't need to rely on the rear window

I've never had a problem with my back window fogging up. As for frost, I just use an ice scraper. It takes about 10 seconds, LOL.

In the thread about traction control off some got pissed at me saying read the manual. I get board so read random things lol, in the manual it actually says do not put any sort of glass cleaner on the cameras or if you do remove it immediately.

But ya frost isn't as much my worry as fog when its humid

I use it on the outside of the windows etc. I am from Wis. Most all frost for me was on the outside. I some times would get it inside (fogging really)but it came from breathing in a VERY cold car/truck. I worked 2nd shift. and sometimes it would be well below O at night after work . Even then it was on the front windshield and would defog as soon as the engine warmed up. Most of the time , by the time I scraped the outside / brushed away the snow , it was not an issue.

You don't have to worry about it. I've gone thru this (see pic) and didn't do anything other than brush snow off of the rear windows when it snowed. Frost, fog, snow, etc. Zero worries.

That may be , I should have read that. I have had a lot of problems with the inside screen looking foggy when the outside camera is wet . The rainX seems to make the water droplets run off better for me . I agree with the humidity now also. I am now in Arkansas and the humidity is a whole new ballgame for me and the RainX seems to help. We use jet dry on the outside of our house windows . We live by water and it helps a lot in keeping the windows clean when drying from morning fog.
