Just a bunch of old crap
One more feature that I forgot, which is new to the GoPro 5, are the voice commands. I was skeptical that I'd ever use them, but I find them to be pretty damn handy in just one day of playing with this thing. The only way to have remote shutter control on these cameras is to use their app or buy their fancy remote control. Total battery killers, and you'd have to carry 2 devices instead of one. Not needed with the voice commands. When it's activated in the menu, you can say things like "GoPro take a photo" and it snaps one no matter what mode you were already in. Set up your GoPro on a tripod or flat spot so you can position it for a pic, get into the photo frame, and tell it what to do. Use a selfie stick and just say the commands. It's really handy. You can change all of the modes (photo, video, burst, etc.), activate any of those modes, highlight parts of videos, or turn off the camera. Really slick feature, and the range is great. I'm testing at 30' and it doesn't hesitate, even if I change my voice or try to add an accent.

@Seabass I have a hero 5 as well. It's been awesome so far!

Only one thing I recommend is changing the photo burst to 3 or 5, anything less than 30. Because if you accidently take 30 the camera takes several minutes to write and you cannot use it while it's doing so.

Kilts are damn hot! (In the sexy way!) my husband wore his for our wedding. Best quote of the night was 'you know it's true love when his kilt is shorter than her dress.'

IMG_0125.jpg Spent some time making a quick prototype tipi. Won't be long and I'll be making the big one. Haven't decided on the fabric, but I might go heavier since this will be my truck and ice fishing shelter. The design will change slightly since I can't add and display a feature at this size.

Ok guys I need a new tent because I don't want to haul the grand castle out for 2 of us to sleep in. Big tent sleeps 6 or 8 so I'm wanting a 3-4 person tent this time.

Been looking at Ferrino, MSR, Kelty and Mermot's.

Ferrino I've looked at is a High Lab Snowbound 3. I can get a really great deal on it like 60% off but I've never had a 4 season tent before and am a little concerned over how hot it will be for down here. Quality looks really good and great weather resistance plus I like the full fly that goes all the way to the ground and the vestibule that protect's gear outside the tent. Also the Lifetime warranty.

MSR I've been looking at is the Elixir 3. I've heard a lot of really good things about MSR's and have heard they last a really long time. Also like the lifetime warranty.

Kelty- Grand Mesa 4, Yellowstone 4 and maybe the Salida 2.

    Marmot- Tungsten 3 or a Limelight 3

Would also consider a North Face Stormbreak 3 if someone has used one and can attest to it being worth it.

    Any other
recommendations? I'm going to buy one within a day or two and would love some input. Going to camp in it next weekend.

Always been a fan of kelty. My 2 ground tents prior to the RTT were keltys. Simple design, sturdy, easy set up, readily available everywhere if you need parts (like replacement poles).
Last ground tent was a grand mesa 2. Still have it, drag it out once in awhile. Still in perfect condition

Good to hear about the Grand mesa. I can get it locally. I may make a trip up to REI in the morning.

I'm always game to go camping anytime if I have someone and somewhere to go. Would I use it in the heavy snow or mountaineering? No, but I can get it cheaper than a 3 season midrange tent.

I have camped in torrential rain before and don't cancel camping because of rain. I really just want a well built tent that will hold up for years and not need replacing or leaking. I hate a tent that leaks. I also like the fact that the fly on the 4 season tents goes all the way to the ground to keep water away from the tent. I'm not dead set on it but I like to leave options open. I'm also always for saving money if it gets me a better product.
