There are plenty in the area especially on that trail, it really is a 4x4 only trail...the other guys with him are 4x4 but they need someone with a winch. The few times I've been on that trail there were always modded Jeeps around but it is getting late on a Sunday night. Sounds like they've committed to camping the night, I think that's wise if they can afford to. Trying to pull a 2wd the rest of the way in the dark would be sketchy.

The last climb out can be a challenge to lesser built rigs but shouldn't be a problem if there are experienced people spotting..

If I had a winch I'd be out there by now, I'm not terribly far (maybe an hour and a half) but I'd just be another 4x4 out there with only a strap and questionable upper ball joints lol. I wonder if any of them has a hi-lift and tried using it to get him unstuck? Depending on how bad it is

Update: Looks like they spending the night on the trail. So recovery still needed in the morning.

    4x4 with a winch

Reception is spotty, but still trying to get exact location.

Are they prepared to stay the night? Low temps to reach 45 at Gorman but can be colder in the valleys where they are at
