What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Stock shackles for now. Likely gonna get some greasable shackles from AP soon that are +0.75" lift.

 

I would be wary of adding longer shackles to any leaf pack that uses the stock mounting points if you're concerned about suspension performance.

Add a leaf if you need more lift.

I'm not adding them for lift, per se. I want greasable shackles, and their kit was one of the few I could find. I may try to put my own kit together, since I really only need the drilled bolts.

I love the leaf pack so far. With a bed rack, RTT, and my spare, it rides pretty nice around town. With a full camping load, it rides like a Caddy.

I wouldn't be too worried about anything noticable. Theyre under 2" longer. An aal would hurt performance more imo.

 

You still get the negative effects from having shackle length mismatched to the lateral length of the springs. Preloading springs, changing shackle angles, etc. etc.

I think there's a few other options for greaseable shackles. That being said, I've had poly shackle bushings on for the last 60k with not too much noise. I think I'll replace them this winter when I tear into my rear suspension though.

Nope. And even if the light was on, you would just have to close the circuit.

Check wheelersoffroad.com for greasable stock-length shackles. I need to upgrade my leaf springs as they are pancakes. Thinking of going the route when I replace them (I still need to decide on a leaf pack). Any feedback on these shackles would be greatly appreciated!

Installed a gentex 177 rearview mirror,

• Auto dim + Compass + Temp
• And installed a 4Runner dual map light

 

I kinda wanted a mirror that would tell me the direction and temperature outside. Might think about this

 

I think the rotors you purchased are the CarQuest ones. The Bosch I get look like these with ceramic coating on all surfaces even where the pads touch I think, until it is rubbed off by the friction. Most rotors rust bad on the outer edge of the rotor and hub area but mine have never rusted and I am in the Salt Belt out here in SLC. I think I payed about 45 a piece compared to 30 each for the cheaper rotors. Hope that helps.
