Yeah nothing like being f-ed up before getting struck in the head by a piece of flying debris. Then if your lucky to live through it don't fret your northern neighbors will feel sorry for you and send a semi load of bottled water and cleaning supplies.

I am looking to purchase this exact box. Does the overhang over the sides of the bed annoy? If only this box was 64 inches and not 66......

Not sure if this has been posted yet (77 pages for this thread) but does anyone else have a sh!+ ton of scratches in the clear coat??? I only use a mirco-fiber sponge for hand-washing and have never been to a carwash...or off-road, yet. Let it air dry as well.:confused::confused:

Yeah I had a ton of light scratches on my old black 2016 Tacoma. But that's just how it goes with black cars.. If your really picky with scratches and what not a black car isn't for you... It defiently wasn't for me.. i ended up trading my 16 black Tacoma for a 17 Quicksand Tan Tacoma.. I couldn't be happier

Yup, mine has scratches too. As a matter of fact, all cars have them. The swirl marks and scratches are just more visible on black paint.
What I do is polish my truck at least once a month and it takes care of a lot of those imperfections in the paint . For the deeper scratches I'll use a little Meguiars compound. That might seem too harsh on new paint but if you use it correctly , the paint will be fine .

Black is the most beautiful color when clean and polished . But I regret getting black because the scratches drive me insane and it's very high maintenance. I'd trade mine in but I would lose about 5k !

I lost about 3.2k or something like that on the trade in.. My new truck was 38.3. it has the JLB audio and tech package up grade. The dealer gave me the extended warranty for free. As well as the maintenance package. The original price on the truck was $39,872 and that was without the cost of the warranty and the maintenance package. So I think I did pretty good. I was ok with loosing the 3.2k in the trade in.. Black was so hard to take care of. Never again will I own a black car/truck lol

Had black vehicles since the 80s, try these things
Rinse you vehicle off (water only) at a car wash before you hand wash
Use a two bucket wash technique
Spray soap/suds on your vehicle prior to hand washing a section (I use a Orkin Hose end sprayer $10)
Use a leaf blower to push off the remaining water after you rinse

For $3,000 to $5,000 you can get the exterior Line-X Body Armored! If I keep Black Betty in a couple years this is what I'm going to do. Just think.. no more waxing...park as close to the front door at Walmart as you like! No door dings..

I had a '13 Fusion that was black and never had any issues. Then again, it was metallic black and it probably hid the scratches. I wanted a quicksand one but didnt want to wait for it to be built and my black one had everything on it that i prefered. I was thinking of getting porcelain coating on it. Not sure how much that costs.
