As you can see, communication with the masses is smoother in fb format however, I will say that messages were coming through here on tw when they were unable to on fb...hmmm. Maybe future SCOR+ platform for SOS.

Just saying people, this is why I always say if you have a HAM radio, you might as well get a license as well?! The possibility of "spotty" reception goes way, WAY DOWN and this is a perfect example of needing LONG RANGE radio communications via repeater(s)!!! In my humble opinion, CB should always be a back-up form of comms as well. I would NEVER rely on cell phones out in the middle of BFE!!! :notsure:

I REALLY do hope they will be fine from what I am reading about the possible cold temps for tonight!!! AWESOME group of people here and across the country for sure!!!

Hoping for a safe recovery and safe travels back!!! :mudding::thumbsup::fistbump::cheers:

    For those following this thread...

Please always include your location and situational needs (stuck vs broken, recovery equipment needed, etc).

Pin your location to a friend or family member at some point before you lose reception.

Carry comms and comms back up
Provide CB vs ham and freq's

Be prepared to spend the night out

Like these guys did...NO ONE LEFT BEHIND!!! Good job guys!

Crews currently on scene assessing the recovery. We will update as it becomes available.

haha, same here. I was on their main FB for a short while but I had to unfollow it, the comments and asshattery were just too much. Much like the 3rd gen forum on this site lol. The SOS page is where it's at

If you have a FB account and request it you'll get added, worked for me anyhow. Maybe having a pic of me banging my sliders against a rock in my cover photo helped :notsure:

Not on FB. Not sure if you're part of scor, but would be rad if they had other ways to communicate needed recoveries

Yes i am. If you were on this end though you would see how crazy confusing it is having two platforms for communications, this time there were 3!
The reason SCOR+ has the SOS page is strictly for recoveries/comms. One place for communications and info sharing is essential. In this case, the wife was not on the SOS page so I decided to step in. Danny came in from here and we put 2 and 2 together. Worked, but still totally chaotic!
You can sign up for fb and only add the SOS page. It works for recoveries very well in this platform. Like @dtaco06 said 10k+ there.
In this case we got to these guys in about 2 hours. For last min with very little info, that's stellar.
