I never understood why they never used mt tires as well. Or snorkels.. The last rigs were equipped with snorkels... makes sense. .. The video production is getting better and better every season. As they get better they seem more commercialized. It's like watching a long ass commercial for Toyota and Maxtraxx... Idk, I enjoy the series very much but the commercialized aspect is getting kind of annoying...

The tire they used this time was a mud terrain. In their build videos for the Tacoma they talk about them.

It's fun to drool over their set up since after everything, it's probably a $70,000 rig. I mean that habitat tent thing is $10,000 by itself.

Something I noticed in this series is that the modifications on the rigs are not permanent. It makes me thing the rigs are on loan from Toyota.

The Mt tires are not true mts... they are toyo equivalent RT..they are a hybrid between and mt and at...most of the manufacturers are building one in the last 2 years to bridge the gap.

Personally I prefer Ronny Dahl's videos. They are overlanding with more emphasis on offroading. They are shot in 4k. I'll post a link.

A couple of my Issaquah buddies went on a tour with Expedition Overland in South America a year or two ago. Definitely impressive rigs they have. At the time, I was totally stock and after that trip, the mod list for my truck started.

Ahhh I didnt see they upgraded to MTs. I remember their ATs from previous videos. I was thinking the same thing about the snorkels, but I think the reasoning was that there wasnt a 3rd gen snorkel out yet. I guess if I was paid by maxtrax to offroad I would find any excuse to use them too, but it still seems they over use them heh.
Ive subscribed to Ronny's vids for a while, those rigs seem more balanced, less commercial. Man I woud love to have one of those UTE rear boxy cap things, I drool every time!

I'm looking on xoverlands specs on the land cruiser. I wonder why they went with 4.88 regear with those 33s Kind of defeats fuel range... @northwesttaco is geared 4.88 with 35s and he says it's still a bit overgeared. Perhaps the tranny is geared differently.

I think they are a hybrid
because they carry so much weight and were towing the trailer with the LC

anyone in WA do a ECGS clamshell bushing on the front diff?? if so is it easy? do I need to a alignment again after?? cause I just started to notice the vib and humming from the driver wheel side, I thought it was a flat spot but it wasn't. yesterday I looked under the truck and saw the shaft and it had a centimeter of play tight but still moveable by hand, I pushed it back in, and doesn't make any humming or growling noise.

Does the noise go away when you put it in 4wd?

Ordered my magnuson supercharger. I have to cut myself off from buying anything for my truck for a while. Is there a way to block the group buy thread? Anyone interested in buying a kimber pro carry 2?
