I'm stealing this idea to mount a shovel on my rack and avoid drilling holes in it since its already painted!

(Ignore all of the chalk dust on the rack. It was by the exhaust door of a rock climbing gym for a few hours)

Bed rack is on!! Thank you @Delta00 for building this for me!

I painted it yesterday with rustoleum paint and primer in gloss black(3 coats) and gloss clear (2 coats). There are a few little imperfections in the paint but its on a 16 year old truck with plenty of its own bumps and scratches.

    Am I expo yet?

Anyone able to link the part for converting a coleman stove 1lb propane to a 10lb propane tank? Googling skills are off tonight, I can only find the 1lb refill piece, I'd like a hose assembly that can connect a 10lb bottle to my stove.

    Thanks!

The new season of expedition overland came out earlier this week. I've only watched two episodes but there is definitely more focus on trail truck travel this time. F the haters, I'm enjoying it :)

Sooner or later I need to watch this. My problem - and it's a good one - is that I have a huge pile of Australian 4wdAction magazine dvds here and the combination of the trucks, trails, scenery, and the schenanigans keep me watching them.

How do you like the compressor in that bin? I was thinking of doing the same thing, any tips or thoughts about your experience.

    Thanks,

Any advantage of having it inside rather than under the hood? I'm thinking under the hood since I'll have a baby seat there and would be annoying to move the kid every time we need to air up.

You can always put the baby seat on the other side. :) Thats where I have mine. My thought to having it inside is the dust from the outside and heat from the engine.

We actually usually have him in the middle but it restricts folding the seat down either way. Curious if there are downsides to having it under the hood. Also worried that if it get really muddy I'd rather not have to open the door and have a hose running out, but do like the idea of the unit itself being protected and out of some elements.

I'm pretty sure it would be ok to have it under the hood. A lot of people mount the compressor there. I don't have a lot of room left in my engine bay so I opted to do it behind the seats, plus I figure the ARB may last longer if I keep it away from dust and unnecessary heat. You may want to consider moving the baby seat to one side or the other so you have at least have access to one of the storage bin since there isn't much storage for trucks.

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I have my compressor in that location as well. It's not so bad to get to most of the time, always has nice clean air, and I fold the seat down when airing up so it has plenty of air to keep it cool. It's a pretty small space with the seat folded in place but all I use it for then is the air locker, which runs the compressor for like 0.5s.

Under hood seems legit too. Easier to get to if you usually have stuff in the back seat. Probably a little quieter too

Got my total chaos bed stiffeners in today. Here's some before and afters

    Driver before
    Driver after
    Passenger before

    Passenger after

Definitely looks as if the gap is smaller. Like the peice of mind that shit won't split now.

Also this was my first order from total chaos. Very impressed with how everything was shipped (packaged and bubble rapped), the printed instructions, and the stickers/posters. Was pretty happy with it all.
