    ...good of you to assist

but this is not a trail success story...
if strapping /or winching was required to get 'im thru/out.

No one should garner praise for simply making attempt.
So any bragging claim would be an embarrassment IMO.

Ummmmmm, it didn't make it. At least not without a distress call and the help of the So Cal AAA of offroad adventuring.

So what do you have to say about the guys that run king of the hammers? Haven't seen a single guy finish without winching multiples obstacles. I guess they shouldn't be proud of that. Finishing king of the hammers definetly isn't an accomplishment if you need to utilize a winch. How bout the Baja 1000 I'd say a large majority of cars receive help pulling them out of silt or out of a ditch, maybe even rolling them back over.

Good call, sounds like you have a good grasp on this stuff. Maybe you should take a fire road to finish line of the next KOH and let those guys know that they should hang their heads in shame.

I'm not even sure how you make a comparison between a purpose built vehicle conquering ungodly terrain, and a pre-runner getting in over it's head. There really is no success story here, other than no loss of life or property.

It's funny how people miss what happen here. We were told we could make it by the guy leading the run. I never would take my pre runner on a double black diamond on purpose.

I'm not trying to say you were in the wrong. I saw that somebody else led you there. You just got in over your head, I think we've all been there before.

If I start swimming across the pacific, and have to be rescued by boat and carried the rest of the way, is that a success?

Anytime you head out with your friends and spend time in the mountains, if no one is injured and nothing is ruined the trip is a success just in the memories alone. Steve Rinella once said that the best memories you will have will come from hard times that you wish were a dream while they were happening.

The driver in the prerunner isn't in here telling everyone about how he conquered the trail in his 2wd truck, so I think my comparison is plenty fitting. Seeing as how your from Texas I don't think you've run MJT if you had you'd be a little more understanding. It's a little more intense than muddling with your sister-cousin
