    Maybe you should go watch...
and tell me what you see at the end of their winch rope.
No is not a tree or another competing truck.

regardless... competition is not the same deal as a trail run.

There's little competition during a trail run
unless one competes at consuming more alcohol then their buddies

I've run the Miller Jeep trail more then a few times, both directions.
I thought it was rather easy actually.

But then... I always come prepared and capable.

I've dragged more noobs off the trail(s) over the years then I care to remember.
Likely why I don't wheel with a group any longer.

Not because they're noobs mind you...
but because they don't take it seriously and show up to a trailhead unprepaired.
Not once mind you... every damn time.

As I get older... hand holding is no longer my thing.
I'll use my winch/recovery equipment to save myself thanks.
'cuz quite honestly... that's why I purchased that stuff in the first place.

So F those folk that utilize and wear out others recovery stuff
because they're to cheap to spend the required money
for the recovery equipment that is needed for their own recovery.

    16+ years worth of wheeling.
and I never called for help.
Not here in SoCal nor Moab.

And no I'm not special... I just show up prepared.

Someone thinks he's special. He must bring all that gear cause no one wants to wheel with him. I don't blame them.

And not only have I watched the hammers. I've helped build and race prep trucks for the koh I'm very familiar with it. And as you stated, it's other trucks helping pull them out. It's not all self recovery.

@Redfive11 - Glad you got out okay. You couldn't have been in more capable hands once Tom (@MonkeyProof) got out there.

@MonkeyProof - Good stuff dude.

@Boosted TRD - WTF dude? Did you really tell a 2WD he could make it down MJP, then abandon the group when the 2WD couldn't make it out - without even telling them you were leaving? Not only a dick move, but endangered yourself by driving off in an area you were obviously not familiar enough with in the dark with no comms.

Everyone in this thread needs Jesus. Or at least a quality recovery strap and to read this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/going-alone-single-vehicle-wheeling-safety.454083/

It's a $30,000 truck. Spend a couple hundred bucks on some recovery gear.

Back in the summer of 2008 I did the MJT in my brand spanking new 1 week old stock Tacoma.

    687474703a2f2f6933372e74696e797069632e636f6d2f76386574786a2e6a7067.jpg

No sliders + no lift + stock tires ÷ no ground clearance and add a bit of no talent = trail carnage that day. Rear passenger door had to be forced to open. A 2x4 and a BFH was used to beat inner door sills back to submission in order for both doors to open properly ....

First time I did MJT I did it in my stock '04, just 4x4 and the e-locker. I have no idea how I managed to get through it without any trail damage other than a banged up skid plate. The second time I did it I was lifted, and lucky I had just got sliders put on the week before because I hit them a few times pretty hard. Conditions up at MJT seem to change unpredictably, probably because of all the traffic it gets and the ground/rocks being so loose in most parts.
